Airfield Tavern Table Table

We went for a meal this evening at this welcoming restaurant with our lovely (but lively!) 4 children. The food was excellent and the service was on another level! Our server, Joanna was incredible! She engaged with the children, and even let them help her lay the table! Although the pub was busy, she took the time to ensure we were happy. This made our evening! Best service we have encountered in a long time! Thank you

I came in to sample the breakfast offer with my 4of my children...one was over 15.fantasyic value food and as much as we could all eat.When we arrived there was only one oerson to seat everyone but she was polite and xorteous even though we hadnt booked and explaoned how to...we couldnt of asked for beter service but would of been nice that she had more help earlier in the day...we ard looking forwaes to goinbg back again and may even try the evening meal offers too.thankyou

Absolutely loved our time at the Airfield Tavern on Tuesday. We found that the menu was excellent with a wide choice. Thankyou

food was very nice, polite service from staff, no problems with cleanliness, just that as always service very slow, food took a long time to come out of the kitchen. this seems to be an ongoing thing.

We stopped coming here last year because the service and food really deteriorated. We have been twice recently and the service has improved greatly and the food pretty good. A little dissapointed last night when I ordered the Asian beef salad. The portion looked about the size on entree and although it tasted good the portion of actual meat was small. I work in the service industry and try not to bag staff as I understand the pressure they are under. We will come again but I won't be choosing that dish if I am really hungry.

Visited here yesterday with my partner, we were told as soon as we asked for a table that there would be a 30 minute wait, which was fine. Our drinks took a while but understandably as they were all rushing around! Starters were okay although my partners order was wrong but this was explained to us and put on the fact of a new chef. Mains arrived just as we had requested but missing sauce, which arrived by the time my steak was cold! No option given of more drinks or any other condiments. I asked for a cocktail at the start of my main and didn't receive it until 15 minutes after! This was blamed on the barmaid not knowing the recipe? I took one sip and pulled out a mosquito! Which was absolutely disgusting! As a manager of a pub myself and have worked In many pubs and high quality restaurant I have to say this place has it's downfalls! It could be an excellent place with a bit of training! My meal should have been free not just been offered a replacement drink! Which obviously I will not want! I can't blame the waitress for this mistake it is down to the manager to sort these complaints! I won't be returning due to the fact there are many nicer places, but I will give the chef credit the food was lovely just spoiled by the non communication within the staff.

Unfriendly, lacks atmosphere. Slow to serve food & drinks at bar & it wasn't busy. Food was warm not hot greasy under cooked chips,fish ok. Dissapointing visit. �

Most of the staff don't have a clue, decided to ask wayne the barman for recommendations on food. Decided to have the chicken and rib combo and hubby had the steak, gammon chicken platter. Chicken was like rubber, onion rings over cooked, coleslaw had no taste. The peppercorrn sauce was disgusting, too much pepper and totally the wrong colour. On the plus side the ribs were amazing. The platter was tiny for the price. Thankyou to wayne though who served perfectly and was very polite as usual. He is a credit to the place.

Have to say i wont be coming again, there was a group of 13 of us and 2 children, so we had to pre order our food, when we arrived we waited 20 mins for our food, to have burnt Gammon, rock hard mushy peas, burgers like hockey pucks, absolutly vile! never again!

Had a meal with friends last night, straight away we were told at least 3 meals on the menu were not available. When are main courses arrived one meal had been overlooked so was then being cooked which took ages. When we got the sweet menu again 2 dishes were not available. Hopefully things will improve by our next visit.

Definitely will not be returning to this table table restaurant, service and attitude of waitresses was rude and very poor, over hour wait for food and restaurant was fairly empty. Items missing from meals, took forever to get any service even had to go to bar to pay bill due to no service at our table, so wouldn't recommend here.

Went here a few weeks ago, got seated by a waitress. Then waited around 25-30mins for another waitress to serve. We had no drinks offered. Other people arriving after us got served first. The waitress stated she didn't know we we here �. Sent complaint to the place and table table on numerous occasions but not getting a response. One word for this place SHOCKING.

Went for birthday lunch yesterday and the food quality was extremely poor and let's just say I think your staff would benefit from some quality customer service training. I had a jacket potato which was inedible as the skin was so hard and hardly any potato inside so possibly thinking it's been reheated from the day before! I wanted to give you another try as our last meal was poor too but can safely say I won't be returning!

Was treated to lunch, found the service slow and unwelcoming, took ages, food is very basic, thrown together, the vege burger was horrible, when we told the waitress she said i should have told her and she'd have got something else, but never apologised! Won't be back!

The service, food is shocking. I'm stopping in the hotel next door. Unfortunately this place is the closest place to eat. Wines great. Apart from that. Not a very pleasant experience.

The food was awful. The starter was cold, our mains took ages and when mine arrived it looked like it had been sat around for ages and was yet again cold. I had salmon and it was dry, the beans were shrivelled and the sauce congealed. The dessert wasn’t awful but it wasn’t good either.

I understand they were busy and fully booked but that is no excuse for the poor service and awful food.
