Stayed for a few nights in June. The good point is you can walk into Whitby in ten mins. But £35 a night is a bit excessive, you would expect a luxury site with outstanding facilities, which this site definitely does not have. There is a block with shower and toilet for men and same for ladies which is old and outdated and dirty. There are two sinks outside for washing pots but you really wouldn't. No other facilities available. We were told by other visitors there that the owners seem to charge different people different prices. It's a £10 a night site.

Enjoying another excellent stay in this wondeful cottage. Location, facilities etc. hard to beat, well worth visiting for anyone wanting to enjoy Whitby and the surrounding area.

Booked our motorhome in a few months ago. Turned up this week and had to ring a number to say we had arrived. A man working on site eventually wandered over and showed us our pitch which was actually for a static. On our last night we got back to find someone had been given the static pitch next to us for their caravan and we both ended up sharing the same area outside, as theirs had no awning area and they had to use our bit of grass. Our Doberman was fortunately too tired from all the walking to eat his children! He told us that when he arrived he rang up and was told someone would be there in 20 minutes to show them their pitch - it was just over an hour. Thankfully he was a decent guy and we didn't have any conflict, but it could have been different. All pitches are cramped extremely closely together and some were on no more than a bit of a grass verge. My husband checked out the showers and he said they were foul. There is no one on site at any time so don't have anything you need help with. It is also right next to a very busy main road. We were okay as we were visiting family and spent our time at their place, Airy Hills definitely wasn't a place to spend time at. There is no where for children to play at all, no warm water for pot washing and the elsan point was a grate in the ground. Do not bother, book another site or visit another pretty sea side town.

7 months later and I finally got round to reading the owners response. It wasn't us with the awning, it was the people put next to us - read my review - and the bit about the dog was tongue in cheek. They were using the area right up to our Motorhome within a couple of feet of our door. If you don't like negative reviews go to a proper campsite and see how they do it.
