My sister, brother-in-law and I were travelling to Seahouses for a week's holiday on Sunday 17th September, in a BMW, when a warning light came up on the dashboard and the car lost a bit of power. We arrived in Seahouses, and my sister immediately rang her insurance company, Admiral, as they'd arranged breakdown cover. The lady was very reassuring, and the mechanic from AJK Thompson arrived within about 20 minutes. He soon diagnosed the problem, and said a new part was required which he would get the following day. My brother-in-law took the car to AJK Thompson's garage the following morning, and had a phone call at 12 noon to say the car was ready. He went along, paid a very reasonable amount for the work, and the car was fine for the rest of the holiday, doing about 400 miles. We were all delighted that there was minimal disruption to our holiday, and all the staff at AJK were very polite and efficient. Well done AJK Thompson.

On holiday but had to do an MOT because we're travelling abroad directly from here and it was going to expire. I didn't realise until it was too late, so couldn't use my local garage (in Sheffield). Found this place on the internet after reading a few reviews for various garages. You know how it is with garages - difficult to know whether they're going to 'find' things wrong that need fixing unless you know them properly.

I needn't have worried. They were friendly, helpful, chatty and down to earth. The car failed, but I was aware of the problem (I know my way around the car) and they fixed it the next day. Their charges were reasonable. Honestly, it couldn't have been better.

The people nearby are lucky to have this garage as their local one.

Had a puncture Bank Holiday Monday said "come back at 9.30 on Tuesday and I will get one of the lads to repair it straight away" can you book me in? Take a name? "No I will definitely do it tomorrow at 9.30"

Turned up on time this morning, sorry we can't do it rude and no sorry.

Rubbish service don't trust what they promise, go to Alnwick Tyres they fixed them in 30 minutes.

Great service, at very short notice provided re-assurance that my son and girlfriends car was ok to drive back home, 200 miles away , after a rear end bump. Thanks again.

Chris from AJK assisted after a breakdown in early July reported via the AA. He pulled out all the stops including a free place to park the camper, a lift to a local garage on a Sunday and advice on where to eat. I doubt you could find a better service anywhere. 5 star.

Excellent response to break down call via GEM. They went beyond call of duty to get my vehicle going again. Very friendly service. Thoroughly recommended.

Speedy response from my call via the AA. The mechanic Chris was absolutely 1st class. I would recommend this garage and mechanic to anyone in the area who has problems with their vehicle.

A fantastic petrol station. Friendly staff. Wasn't charged for using my debit card. Beer is cheaper than the co-op down the road.

Beware credit/debit card surcharge... No-one minds paying extra for fuel in out of the way places, but to be surcharged 1% for using a Debit Card says to me they don't want my business. I will avoid this station in future.
