Lovely Golf MK7 R recently came in for TVS Engineering stage 3 DQ250 DSG software and Revo stage 2 engine software with exhaust overrun. Further to our announcement at the beginning of the week we sadly have more changes to share with you...
The government has said garages can continue to ‘operate normally’, but there is nothing normal about COVID-19 and life as we all know it is anything but normal right now!
We need to put the safety of our team and their families first and so we have made the extremely difficult decision to temporarily close the business to all external visitors. This means with immediate ...effect the AKS workshop will be closed. We will continue to fullfil our online orders whilst staffing and stock allows, however to further reduce exposure to our team we will be operating a limited service. This primarily means that instead of shipping orders every day like we currently do we'll instead do it no more than twice a week. Please consider these longer turnaround times when placing your orders.
We are compiling a list of customers who wish to book in with us and will contact everyone on a 'first come, first served' basis once the situation allows, with priority going to those who have had existing bookings cancelled. If you would like to add your name to the list please get in touch via the usual means (phone, email, messenger).
We hope you can understand that this has not been an easy decision to make. We would love to be able to remain open and serve our many loyal customers but we have to respond responsibly and treat the situation with the seriousness it deserves. We hope to be back to 'normal' as soon as possible and the sooner we all isolate, the sooner that can be.

Such a doughnut! Recently has this Golf 6R in for some TTRS calipers and Reyland brake discs. Something a little different to the normal red or black calipers. Always nice to get some sugary treats from the customer.

Following last night's announcement from the PM we can now confirm some changes of our own...
In short, we are still open. But this will only be for servicing, repairs and essential maintenance. So with that in mind, effectively immediately, we will only be taking bookings for the aforementioned works, and priority will of course be given to key workers.
... Today we will be contacting customers who already have bookings in order to confirm your position. We ask that if the work you're booked for is not absolutely essential then you reschedule for a later date. And the same applies regarding your health - if you have symptoms please let us know, stay home and stay safe!
In addition to the above there will also be some changes in the way we operate here at AKS Tuning. We will continue with our increased cleaning of surfaces and disinfecting of cars prior to handover, however regrettably we will be closing our waiting room. This means if you do need to keep your booking then you will unfortunately not be permitted to enter the building. Instead we will ask that you drop your keys off in the letter box and make your payment over the phone.
We hope you understand and appreciate the importance of the decisions we have made. As with everyone else the situation is constantly evolving and we may decide to make further restrictions/limitations in the coming days/weeks. Our priority at the moment is the health and safety of our staff and customers, but also to ensure cars remain safe and usable for those who need to use them!

We think it's safe to say that covid-19 is here to stay. For the next few weeks at least! This is completely new territory for us all and our thoughts go out to any of you who have been affected by this event, whether that's through changes to your regular routines or through illness or loss of a loved one.
... Here at AKS Tuning the health of our customers and employees is an absolute priority, so whilst we remain open for all workshop and online services we wish to reassure you that we are taking extra measures to ensure the cleanliness and hygiene of our building and your vehicles. We will be carrying out additional surface cleaning in the waiting area at regular intervals throughout the day, as well as the door handles/frames, payment terminals etc. We will also disinfect the high contact areas of your car and keys prior to handover to prevent the spread of any potential nasties!
We know that many of you are keen to get your cars through our workshop as soon as possible but during this time of such unprecedented uncertainty we respectfully request that any customers showing symptoms of coronavirus (currently these are a high temperature and/or a new continuous cough - link below for more info) please call/email us to discuss and/or re-book. This is for the protection of our team and other customers but also to aid in your quick recovery.
Likewise, if you are unsure or would just feel more comfortable with rescheduling your booking then we of course respect your decision to do so and only ask that you call/email us with as much notice as possible.
AKS Tuning intends to remain open for as long as staffing levels and/or the government will allow! We are a low risk environment but that does not mean we are complacent and we will do all that we can to protect everyone who enters our building, from customers and employees to delivery drivers and visitors. These are trying times for everyone (especially if you're running low on toilet paper!!) but if we all follow the basic personal hygiene guidance from Public Health England (link below for more info) then we are hopeful that we can continue to provide the service and support you're used to.
