Akurei MMA and Fitness centre has relocated into the old arena nightclub on Newport Road opposite the Volkswagen Garage.
We will be offering a full timetable of classes such as- MMA, K1, Jiu Jitsu, fitness and kids classes such as wrestling, jiu jitsu and striking classes as well as offering personal tuition from our experienced coaches.

So earlier this month we announced that we are introducing more classes and as of July all memberships will by direct debit only starting the 1st July.
All existing memberships had been cancelled.
The process of setting up all memberships for July has been slower than expected and they have to be all done by the 22nd of June to come out on the 1st of July.
... So as of next week before every classe we would like every person who attends the gym to come to the desk and verify if your membership has been set up or requires action.

After the announcement earlier today about new classes being added and dedicated sport memberships we have been inundated with questions about the proposed new timetable. We've provided some info so that people can make an informed decision on which membership they will opt for.
PLEASE NOTE!!
THIS TIMETABLE WILL NOT BECOME LIVE UNTIL LATE JUNE! (Date still to be confirmed)
... Due to the sheer number of Direct Debits we will need to set up to start on the 1st July we would like to begin setting them all up through June. So as soon as you know which membership you would like come in and we can set it up for you.
MMA Membership £40 Thai Boxing Membership £40 K-1 Membership £40 Boxing Membership £40 Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu Membership £50 (Twice as many classes as all the other sports)
All Access Membership £60 - Any adult class, 19 classes per week! We will offer a discount to existing members for £55 provided we set it up before July 1st.
If you do not wish to be a member you can attend classes as a non member for £7 per class.
Metafit/tabata is a fitness class which you can attend with any membership and we advise you to do so if you're serious about competing in any of the combat sports we compete in!

Exciting changes are coming to Akurei Martial Arts!
Last year we expanded our timetable and our coaching staff. This enabled us to give the widest range of combat tuition in our area, with dedicated coaches for each martial art. All our coaches are professional competitors with bags of experience and proven track records in the discipline they specialise in.
Over the last year we have been speaking with visitors and members of our gym to get some feedback on how we can impro...ve on what we offer. We are now in a position to act on some of that feedback.
More Classes! MMA, Boxing and Thai Boxing were all operating with just 1 dedicated class per week. All three of these classes will very soon be on 3 times per week. Let’s face it if you want to be good at something you got to be consistent with your training! K1-Kickboxing will also go from 2 classes to 3 classes per week!
Off the back of this we will now offer dedicated sport memberships!

Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu Membership £50 All Access Membership £60 - Any adult class, 18 classes per week! We will offer a discount to existing members to £55 provided we set it up before July 1st.
*All memberships will be charged monthly on 1st of each month. ** Any existing annual or six-monthly memberships still active will be honoured.
All adult classes cater for all skill levels from beginner to professional and for ages 13 and above.
Akurei Martial Arts has always operated with an open-door policy and everyone is welcome. That being said we have resisted a member only policy for some time now and in light of recent issues with cash payments for memberships we will be moving towards Direct Debit ONLY as of July 2018. There will continue to be no tie in contracts and your Direct Debit can be cancelled at any time. This will simply reduce labour checking/logging memberships each month and reduce down time on class start times, especially if you turn on your location services on your phone and have booked on to a class in advance as the app will check you in automatically.
All coaches are willing to commit more time to our members and to get the best possible results consistency is key!
There will continue to be a non-member fee for singular classes of £7 which can be paid in cash. ***This will also apply if you have a dedicated sports membership and wish to try another class.

No kids class today - back to normal on Tuesday

No kids class today, as Will is fighting tonight.

Great first fight for Luqman Queem.
Had several submission attempts but the fight ended with a split draw.

We bring our kids to k1 on a weekend, they have been doing it since akurei had their gym in grangetown. The coaches Nathan, Anthony, jess, Robyn and will are brilliant with the kids and they kids love them too. I give these guys a five star because they know what they doing, what they want and the effort they have put in is brill.

My 10 year old daughter has private lessons twice a week with Nathan Boyce and also attends kids K1 on Saturdays. She loves going...all staff there are committed and proffesional.....her confidence has grown so much since she started a few years ago.
