Al Azhar Masjid serves the whole community of South Shields and provides a place of worship for the Muslim community.
Al-Azhar Mosque South Shields Description
The Masjid houses prayer facilities for men, women and children. Regular circles take place throughout the week as follows:
1. Monday after Isha: Hadith circle (brothers and sisters)
2. Wednesday after Isha: Tafseer circle (brothers and sisters)
3. Friday (sisters' circle)
4. Saturday and Sunday one hour before Dhuhr azan: Qur'an circle (brothers)
Note: circle times will be altered with Summer time
In addition, there are various new projects currently being planned and these will be announced in the near future insha Allah.

Ramathan Mubarak! Just to .let everyone know that first Taraweeh Jama'ah follows immediately after Isha, The Iqama for Isha will be at 11.15 pm, insha'allah.
Salam alaikum. Just to let the sisters know that there will be no Jummah prayer at Al Azhar mosque due to renovations taking place in the ladies prayer room. Jazakum'allah khairan.

Salaam alaikum brothers and sisters. We would like to announce that the Al Azhar Madrassa will be reopening on 28th Dec. 1 pm, after Duhr. Insha'allah there will be a registration day at the mosque for parents who would like to sign their children up.
Properties attached to the Al Azhar mosque are now available for rent. Please contact a member of the Mosque Committee if you're interested. The flats are ideally located for the mosque itself and close to a large variety of shops and stores.
