It's the first time I've visited tonight after being highly recommend by a friend and it won't be the last. The food was absolutely delicious and Fisa the manager was also great, he made you feel at home and was having a good laugh with him. Looking forward to coming back in the future

User

I have been here several times over the years. The food and service is excellent and the staff are very polite. They will even get you the dish that you love to your table. Superb venue for an evening meal.

User

I booked al maidah for my daughters wedding on the 13/07/2018.

I was really worried about the food and service not being up to standard. I relayed my concerns and was reassured that I would not be disappointed.

Management really listened and went that extra mile to make my daughters wedding special. Miriam was fantastic throughout , from the initial booking enquiry to the wedding day. she was easily accessible to ensure everything went as smoothly as possible. The food was absolutely lovely and my guests were all very impressed with the decor , food and service. Thank you

User

Good efficient service ,delicious food variety is endless!.beautiful decor. well worth a visit ..😀

User

Best service best food guy serving us was so helpful definitely will visit again

User

We attended wedding reception of my brother in law ( my wife's cousin) there. The centre location off a main road that is good but Sat Nav get confused at it's location at Sagar Street. We needed to around three after that we located the venue. Parking wasn't enough infront for 150+ guests but venue stewards directed late comets to parking on side streets which were looked and felt creepy. Fortunately no cars were including ours were broken into.

Venu itself was average. Food was lovely and plenty. Service was good though at the beginning it was a slight slow start. Whoever choose the Arabic music didn't felt like a Bengali couples wedding. But I wasn't sure who choose the music. If it was Grooms family the venue organisers have nothing to do with it.

Overall I felt it was nice venue and can be used for future ceremonies.

User

It was nice atmosphere. But they should revise their prices. There's is only three pounds difference between them and Nawab while big difference between the range of food. So one may think why not pay bit extra to get more variety.

User

Food was not up to the standard. Options were limited when it come’s the meat. Never going back again.

User

Went again with my friend just last weekend. The food quality has dropped!! Either too much salt in some of the dishes to a few curries that were absolutely drying.. we had ordered a plate of lamb chops & kept reminding them 3/4 times and yet they still didnt serve us!! Told my family to never visit Al Maida again and rather visit Nawaab !

User

The setting is very good but the food has gone downhill. Need to change the chef.

User

Found hairs in my paya and the manager was very rude in he’s speech!

User

Food was good no doubt we did our son's birthday they didn't mention when we were doing booking and we had our guests they said we do only 2 hrs bookings.. this is not fair you paying them so much and cnt even enjoy your function and they ask you to pack your stuff and leave ..they didn't even let us eat our cake properly I told them I cnt take my guests out while having cake they said it's 2hrs it's 2hrs make it quick other ppl are waiting not going to do any function there .

User

Went to a wedding today, poor service food was cold parking what parking. Rather have a party at McDonald's to be honest at least you'll enjoy your time...

User

Poor service, poor food quality and inexperienced staff. Management attitude stinks when highlighting the issue. Family attended two events one was a PAID event second FREE on both these days waiters were laid back taken time. Cold food which tasted horrible on the free event my two 8 year old neices and a 6 year old were fasting fast opened at 9.39 food was served after 10. That two after a complaint was put as the tables beside us, behind us and infront was served our table was left out.

User

OMG. Where do I start. I visited the place with my family to place a booking for our son’s birthday. The lady who showed us ‘’miriam’ was extremely rude and disrespectful. We wanted it for 100 guests and she kept on belittling us saying’ 100 is best to nothing’ this didn’t stop there. When I mentioned about vegetarian options she again was so unfriendly and on our face ‘ if u choose to take up vegetarian options that is ur problem, we can’t do anything, this is what u get, take it or leave it’, she is inflexible and didn’t even bother offering additional items or to check with chef for special requests. With this experience we weren’t unsure to book it. She gave us the pack of different rates but wouldn’t part with the paper copy and said’ if u want it take pics on ur phone , we only give people paper copy is did a booking’. Clearly that put us off, definitely decided not to go with this. No wonder i see so many negative comments on here. In comparison their competitors like nawab were so focussed and customer friendly, catered to our needs. Folks beware , people there live in their own dream

Land and don’t care about u or ur sentiments.

User

My brother had his party there and good was disgusting and the restaurant was point blank refusing to take any responsibility for the catering. Very bad management and service. After spending £7,000 never again. Would advise others to re-think the venue. Not happy at all.

User

I attended a recent charity event on 30th May 2016 for which we paid £20 per ticket. It was the worst place I have ever been to by far.

Firstly the waiters were very rude and ill mannered. They did not know what they were doing and missed our table and went on to serve the other tables. When we asked for water, we were given dirty bottles with black mould on the rubber seals under the lid.

Secondly, the food was cold even though the food came out of the kitchen at 10:20pm it was very cold. The naans were hard and cold, the curry’s had oil/fat building up on top that’s how cold it was.

We asked for diet coke for our diabetic mother no less than 7 times and on each occasion we were fobbed off. The waiters were almost insulting towards guests.

The moment the food came on our table another waiter came and started to take away the salad and sauces. We had to tell them to leave it as we only got the food now. The waiters were hovering over our heads to take the food away from the table. We had to tell them to wait until we finish and then they can take away the dishes and left over food. Funnily enough the food finished and we were told there was no more left which I doubt given that it was coming up to 11pm and the waiters were too eager to clean up and finish for the evening.

In my opinion I would avoid this place at all costs. I would have been better off giving £20 per person to the charity and stayed home that evening.
