Fantastic event and positive feedback from the primary school that just attended a full jummah including bayan, khutbah and salaah (shame they couldn't get the full reward as mentioned in the hadith regarding the angels that record and reward those who attend early!) This was a really positive engagement that shows that the masjid is doing something about wider community relations and is very pertinent in the turbulent times we live in. May Allah reward ALL those who helped... especially those who took time out from their work and family for the sake of dawah! Jzk to Dr Afzal & all his family, Monmos for food, Ajaz, Yameen and local brothers who contributed with time and costs for transport. If you would like to be further involved with similar positive outreach projects contact Br Kabir on mohammed_kabir@hotmail.com or mobile 07930395626

Grand Iftaar and presentation of 'Gift of Ramadhan' talk by Ustadh Asir at Makki Masjid Burton
With an audience of 50 brothers, Ustadh Asir presented the gift of Ramadhan. He compared the Quran to the banquet of Allah (swt) as mentioned in a narration. Who would like to eat from the Banquet of the King of all Kings? He asked.
Ustadh Asir further elaborated the need for us to view the Quran in a personal capacity. So, when Allah swt mentions that the Prophet (saw) is the jud...ge between you - how does that play out in our lives? It is vital that we engage with the Quran with a mind ready to absorb its content.
Once we do this, there is a chemical reaction, within us with two tangible outcomes. There is agitation within us from our surroundings 'where is Quran in my family life, my work, my society'? And agitation from our nearing accountability by Allah (swt) 'what is my final destination?'
Also, the Quran builds are desire to succeed. It builds hope in darkness, a vision when we feel blind and gives us victory after a long road of trials.
Finally, Ustadh Asir, informed the audience about the 'Man of Quran', the Sahabi, 'Zahid ibn Thabit' who espoused the aforementioned qualities. How the Prophet (saw) have him the duty to write and organise the Quran, how Abu Bakr (ra) asked him to compile the Quran in one mushaf, how Uthman (ra) asked him to make copies of the Quran.
This is the mentality we need to have and we must to our utmost for the Deen.
So, those who want to strive, should strive.

Salaam. Al Qalam will be launching this course early April. In sha Allah
ALLAH (SWA) ordered us in his holy book to recite the Quran with tajweed …"recite the quran modulatingly." the system of tajweed serves as a guide to improve the style of quranic recitation . It was in this way that the holy quran was revealed to prophet Mohammed (PBUH) and also the manner in which he recited it. Therefore, the reader of the holy quran longs to achieve the promise of Prophet Mohammed (PBUH):"whoever recites the quran correctly and proficiently will be with the bountiful dutiful writers (the angels of the preserved tablet - Al lauh Al Mahfuz).

*And who is better in speech than one who invites to Allah and does righteousness and says, "Indeed, I am of the Muslims."} [Quran 41:33]*
Allahu Akbar! The event today assisted in the reversion of a sister to Islam! Alhamdulillah!
... I dont have all the details yet but to witness the event was an emotional experience that shared by many and is only due to all the brothers and sisters who worked together for the pleasure of Allah and by the will of Allah were the means to be able to witness and share in this blessed opportunity, Allahu Akbar!
This sister was just walking down the street going about her business with her family and was approached to just have food, 15 mins or so later she wanted to take shahada! SubhanAllah it was QadrAllah!
Alhamdulillah, May Allah reward you all for your efforts and may you recieve the benefits and rewards hopefully through the generations of Muslims that will come as a result!

The Prophet Sallalhu alahi wa salam was reported to have said that to cause another person's guidance to Islam is better than having a great amount of wealth. [Al-Bukhaari and Muslim]
The Prophet Sallalhu alahi wa salam, also said that anyone who guides others to doing a good deed will receive a reward equal to that of the person who practised it. [Muslim]
He Sallalhu alahi wa salam also said further that anyone who calls others to guidance will receive a reward equal to that of the person who followed him, without their reward being diminished. [Muslim]
