About Alacrity
Alacrity - a student-run business, competing in Young Enterprise - aims to have a product out by December, an to donate a portion of profits to charity
Alacrity Description
Alacrity is a student founded business, competing in Young Enterprise 2013-14, we aim to have a useful, profitable and creative product out on the market by December, and once the competition has finished, to have donated around 10% of our profits to charity. Unlike most, we have a strong, diverse and determined team, from creative artists to winning financial specialists, some have been hand picked by the MD, some have come by on the way, and collectively we have developed a team capable of anything, including winning Young Enterprise - employing a team full of mathematicians is precisely what we aimed not to do.

Just won best sales team at the Wimbledon trade fair, we're genuinely proud of the members of Alacrity who came today, out in the freezing cold and Love Wimbledon to make this happen! Well done to the other YE teams as well!

A successful sale from the production team, which delivered two fully customised birdhouses; this one is for a mother's daughter to keep as an art piece
And the pic of the week goes to Josh! And his multi tasking skills :P
Back in the production, we're working on a exciting new extension to our ECOHUT, we are adding the option to engrave and paint pictures of you choice an add your own text to the faces of your birdhouse
Taking in the next survey for our fundraiser, what toasties would you like to see next week? Toasties are only £1!
At last, our finished product, we present to you the ECOHUT, made from 100% recycled wood, varnished with an openable roof; Ms. Turko - our first customer who is leaving the school in the comming days - was so pleasedwith hers she kindly tipped us, and is planning to order another one with engravement!
Here's Josh, sanding our wooden planks ready for glueing, we should have your products ready by next week keep an eye on this page
Two solid days of work, another shoutout to these guys who stayed till 5:30, refining the pallets champion kindly provided us with, into usable planks for our product
A hard day of labour for these two, who spent yesterday's afternoon cutting 80 planks of wood from the pallets we were provided by Champion, who would have otherwise burnt them; credits to Danish Javed for the photo and for the help setting up the equipment.
Even our rival teams couldn't resist, a very well done to the these members of alacrity, who stayed till 9pm, to sell to a busy crowd, hot chocolate and doughnuts, making a massive profit for Alacrity, as well as other members who indirectly helped out. Thankyou.
