Albert'S Shed Description
We opened our first restaurant in Castlefield, Manchester in 2004 with a clear aim:
To deliver quality food to local customers at a reasonable price in a sharp, modern space. We have pursued that goal ever since and it has earned us many loyal customers. Our menu is unashamedly British with some hints of Italian and favourites from around the globe. Having one of the best locations in Manchester helps – we are situated in the heart of Castlefield in an urban heritage park with one of the best alfresco dining spaces anywhere in the city.
Ever a family business, Albert is the uncle of the owner, Jim Ramsbottom, who led the conversion of Dukes 92 in the early 90’s from derelict stable to Castlefield’s hidden gem. He used to store his tools and materials in the shed where they stayed (with a few other bits and bobs) until the plans for Alberts Shed were formed. He agreed to move out of the shed to make way for the restaurant on the condition that we named the restaurant after him!

Wonderful lunch in the sun yesterday - despite not booking a table and it being very busy the service and food was brilliant - recommend the £12.50 menu - such good value and absolutely delicious
Whole team had a really fantastic meal here (with great whisky) for a price that really suprised us in how low it was for the high quality we received! We had a vegan (me) and someone with nut allergies and we were both catered for. Personally I was really impressed with the vegan option it was delicious and I commend the chef!
Stunning place, food was lovely, staff all polite great service
Prior to booking a venue for a special lunch with former work colleagues to celebrate our friend's 60th birthday and retirement I checked out several restaurants in M/C. I am so glad I settled on Albert's Shed. I received great customer service from the booking stage onwards. There was no problem putting up the balloons and table decorations I supplied. The birthday cake I made was presented at the end of a wonderful meal which was great value for money. Albert's Shed highly recommended for first class ambience, food and service. Thank you team.
Not been before. My partner booked it for my birthday. Food was lovely, service very friendly and attentive. Wouldn't hesitate to recommend it infact I already have.
My friend booked a table for us for my birthday and from the moment we walked in to the moment we left everything we perfect,we were greeted with a smile and our waiter was very friendly and helpful, and we enjoyed a wonderful full English breakfast which was very tasty indeed. What a fabulous way to start my birthday, I will be recommending Albert's to everyone. Thank you.

Had a meal here tonight to celebrate mine and my girlfriend’s birthday (Yeah, we have the same birthday ha). Was a bit dubious when our mains came out (beetroot ravioli) as it didn’t look like there was much on the plate but as soon as we starting eating our minds were changed. It was the nicest meal i’ve had in ages!
Ethan (i think) sorted us out with a glass of prosecco each and a dessert for free. He’s an absolute boi. Nice one mate!
Great Service From Mr Ben Swift Thankyou for going out of your way to get Chicken Burger when that particular item had finished on your menu and we didn’t know because it was the first time here. Also you was polite and accommodating will be back again ���

Myself and fiancee went last night for my birthday to be greeted with a glass of Prosecco which had been pre ordered to which I had no idea of . We then had a cocktail each which again were gorgeous. I then had the little pie 'n' peas and then the seabass. My fiancee thoroughly enjoyed the mushroom soup and then lobster and prawn risotto. The staff were very friendly and attentive checking everything was OK with each meal and making sure we never had a empty glass. Will definitely go back in the future
A great evening with great food and wine. Very reasonable prices, 3 courses for two with wine, beer and a glass of prosecco £110. Excellent value

We were celebrating our daughters 5th Birthday with a pre panto meal. The setting is lovely & a really nice feel to the place. All staff were lovely especially the lady who took our order & also a younger girl who took a shine to our daughter. Food was delicious as always - little pie & peas was a real hit.
Our server then presented our daughter with a birthday cake with candles & a mocktail. This was totally unexpected & really made Farrah’s night. Her little face was a picture.
Big thank you to all staff & we will definitely be returning
What struck me the most was how understanding the staff were and how patient they were seeing one of party was half an hour late. They were so pleasant and good about it. The service was very good no rushing you at all in between courses letting you take time and the meal was very good. I would recommend this place to anyone.
We saw this place from the tram when visiting Manchester, thought it looked nice and decided to try it out. We were not disappointed! Lovely atmosphere, friendly staff and great food.
Great atmosphere. Waiter brought wrong wine. Zinfandel instead of Pinot Grigio which was a bit disappointing. I thought it was sweet and didn’t drink it. But I didn’t mention. Kids pizza were also very doughy. Larger pizza much better. Must use same amount for dough but roll one thinner. My Sunday roast was very nice. Service was good. Overall very good and would return. 😊
Food was amazing as always. Lose 1 star due to our waitress finishing half way through our meal. We were left waiting for our cocktails for 25 mins and waiting 30 mins from receiving our bill to finally paying it, bearing in mind, a couple at another table requested a bill and managed to pay before us. Even they said, we were still waiting to pay! Our first waiter was amazing and cannot fault her. 5 star service.

The food was okay but my wife’s fish was very bony for a fillet and the manager too aggressive and defensive at the same time. If staff ask about your experience 3 times they should do something if you are not happy, otherwise why ask? Won’t be going back soon, shame really one of my favourite places.
Went here with my sister to celebrate a special occasion. We were very disappointed the food was mediocre and and not as described on the menu. My sister had an extra ingredient of a piece of blue plastic on her plate! Maybe we were just unlucky today but we will not be returning to Albert’s Shed.
