Dear Staff and Management; Thank you for your efforts to give us a good Afternoon Tea for Two. This is not a thing we usually do, so although you gave a very good selection, may I just mention that we felt a bit overwhelmed by the amount of cream! Lovely on the tiny scones, but I couldn't manage to dig beneath the cream to find the fruit compote in the little glass... And neither of us could manage an eclair, despite the fact that they looked freshly made.
Indeed, it looked as though we were the only partakers of afternoon tea, and the kitchen staff had had to prepare it specially for us... So many thanks, guys, and we hope you had a share of the £5 tip we left.

A very pleasant waitress, and attentive, though I could not find anyone to tell that the smoked salmon sandwiches I'd ordered as part of my '3' never turned up; but as our voucher fell between the two prices, and we were not charged any extra I did not feel seriously deprived! (And I was stuffed, anway.)

So thank you. Your hotel and grounds are quite beautiful; I shall follow you online.

Jackie (and Graham) Usher.

My husband & I stayed here for two nights. The hotel is set in a lovely location & the room was comfortable & clean. We had a very enjoyable meal in the hotel restaurant the first night we were here & also enjoyed the self service, buffet style breakfast. We used the spa one of the days & had a very relaxing back & neck massage. The only negative was that there was a problem with the pool heating so the pool was very cold. We did go in briefly but it wasn't quite the experience we were hoping for. Overall we had a good stay & would come back again if we were in the area.

Pleasant two night stay for nephew's wedding. Picturesque grounds and decent restaurant. Limited bar food and alcoholic drinks seem a bit pricey. Nice Spa facilities but maintenance work needed on showers (not working) nor was the hotel lift (elderly dad struggled up the stairs with bad hip). Decent size rooms, clean & tidy.

My husband and I were completely humiliated after the way we were rudely spoken to by Chris the Manager of the restaurant after being called "fussy" out loud in front of all the other guests because we requested to sit at a particular table by the window! There were other guests that were equally horrified at what they had heard and had also experienced problems the night before due to being ignored by staff and long waiting times for food where they were just left sitting.

We gave up 2 hours of our precious holiday time speaking to a senior member of hotel management staff called Jennifer who we thought was going to resolve and compensate us but instead had the cheek to ask our advice for improvements as to the running of the hotel and in return we left with no resolution or compensation at all!! No one could care less!!

No one ever came through into the swimming pool area to check on anyone's welfare or take water readings. The Jacuzzi had grit at the bottom of it and the water level was far too low. Additionally the larger of the two saunas was too hot to walk across or sit down comfortably without jumping up from being burnt.

We will not be recommending this hotel to our family and friends who also wanted to visit Shropshire. Be warned !!!

A contemporary Victorian hotel, beautiful bedroom, neat and lovely bar and great food. Plenty of garden to sit out and enjoy with a lovely pond adding to its beauty. Alone, couples or family and short or long break its the place to be. Nostalgic country side with swimming, steam, gym an added bonus ❤❤

Lovely hotel. Relaxing spa facilities included and amazing food. Worth paying for a superior room and the extras that go with it like a Nespresso machine and robes.

A very nice hotel and spa with staff who make you feel very at home. The restaurant is brilliant and the spa, although a little dated and basic, helped recharge our bodies.

Had a conference here which was well organised with very good food - although a few more vegetarian options would have been good. Staff were attentive and efficient. The main room was a bit hot and stuffy and one of the speakers was buzzing a little loudly. They have very attractive grounds which we did make the most of. The Rhododendron could do with clearance and some native bluebell wood would be good to see. Overall a good experience from this limited use
