Alchemy Moon Tattoo Collective Description
Established in November 2016, Dark Steel was opened by artist Dan Phillips and his partner Rebecca. It began with very humble beginnings in a teeny tiny room. 6 months later, we have a huge funky, cool studio with 8 team members. (Check out the album "The Studio")
With 4 full time resident artists, all specialising in custom designs, you can guarantee there's an artist here for you. All styles are covered including cover ups which are Dan's speciality. We have an open door policy, so you're always welcome to pop in and have an informal chat about creating your perfect tattoo. We have a super relaxed and welcoming atmosphere but remain extremely professional at all times. We are fully registered and insured and hygiene is paramount to us.
DEPOSITS - Deposits are required for all bookings. This includes any designs that you request to be drawn up. Once the design is completed, you'll be invited into the studio to view your design and discuss any changes you'd like to make. All bookings will require a deposit and will be deducted from the total price on the day of your appointment.
THE ARTISTS
DAN PHILLIPS - SENIOR ARTIST
Dan has been in the industry for over 10 years. He is an extremely experienced, versatile artist and covers all styles. All cover ups are allocated to Dan. He has trained many people who have gone on to be successful, established artists. Check his work out in the gallery.
RACHAEL TINK DIXON - SENIOR ARTIST
Rachael joined the team in February 2017. She has been tattooing for 3 years and was previously Dan's apprentice. Rachael produces beautiful work and custom designs all her tattoos. Rachael is on her way to becoming a fabulous all rounder.
MARIA WOODWARD - ARTIST
Maria joined Dark Steel in November 2017. She has been tattooing professionally for a year and a half after completing her apprenticeship in another studio. Maria really excels in blackwork and dotwork. She produces beautiful pieces. Including the ever popular mandala's. Maria custom designs all her work so you can guarantee a unique piece.
SEAN NEWMAN - JUNIOR ARTIST
Sean joined the team in July 2017. He started his apprenticeship in a Sutton Coldfield studio and is joining us to complete his training. Sean produces some fabulous designs. His preferred style is Neo-Traditional but he is extremely versatile and has designed and tattooed pieces covering all styles.
BECKY FLINT - APPRENTICE
Becky is our trainee. She joined the team after our move to the new studio. Becky is showing amazing promise and has already tattooed some solid linework pieces. She also produces some outstanding pieces of art. She is 100% committed and motivated. We can't wait to see what the future holds for Becky.

π Information π π€ Artists rates are below πππ π€ They each have an album in the photos section of this page. So check out their work π π€ All bookings require a non refundable deposit to secure. No designs will be drawn without a booking being made and a deposit paid. Deposit amounts are as follows and apply to all artists: 1-3 hours - Β£30... 4 hour session - Β£50 Day session - Β£100. I had a memorial tattoo done for my Nan and grandad, by Rachael. She was extremely helpful and patient with me as it was important this tattoo was perfect... and it is just that. She designed something even more special than I could have imagined. I am in love with my tattoo and canβt stop looking at it. All the staff are really lovely and make you feel welcome. Itβs like one big family and it felt great to be a part of that for the afternoon. Thanks so much Rachael and all the team. I will be back and most certainly be recommending Dark Steel to everyone! Highly recommend Dan and The Dark Steel team, can't fault any of the work done on me or my family members. Not only is Dan passionate about his work he puts his heart into the designs which is reflected in the finished artwork. I never have any cause to complain and can't thank him enough for the memorial piece he is working on for me, the only complaint I have is that due to Dan being in high demand I have to wait for an appointment lol.
