For the safety of our staff, and to reiterate the signage on our doors, PLEASE do not come to our shop if you have symptoms of COVID-19 such as a cough. You are putting others ar risk and will be asked to leave.

During the lock down period, we have reduced our opening hours. From Thursday, we will be open 8.30am until 1.30pm Mon-Sat and closed on Sundays.
We will continue to review as the crisis continues.
Between 8.30am and 9.30am, priority will be given to NHS staff and other keyworkers.

Normal deliveries will resume tomorrow. Thanks to everyone for your patience while we checked whether these were allowed under lock down.

Following the Prime Minister's announcement this evening, we have taken the difficult decision to temporarily suspend home newspaper delivery.
While we realise the importance to our customers of their daily newspaper, it was not made clear whether newsagents could continue to send staff out to deliver newspapers and magazines.
With the majority of our delivery team being youngsters, we simply cannot send them out in good conscience without knowing this to be both legal and sa...fe.
We will be urgently consulting with the experts and will update as soon as there is clarification.
In the meantime, the shop and post office will be open tomorrow from the later time of 8.30am

Post Office counter update: an engineer was sent to us by Post Office yesterday... the wrong engineer.
However, by hook or by crook, or just dumb luck, we are now operational.
We're here for all your posting, bill payments, and banking needs... or you could pop in to see the look of relief on the postmaster's face!
... We also have a range of ice cream, cold drinks, slush drinks, sweets if you feel like like a treat!

Post Office counter update: those helpful folks at Post Office's IT Helpdesk have dispatched an engineer with all haste to get us up and running again. They are expected... after lunch. We hope to be functional again soon after.
In the meantime, why not pop in for an ice cream, a refreshing cold drink, or just to hear the postmaster quietly sobbing in the back office...
