Aldi came into their own some years ago in this country when the financial crisis here first started to bite.
We like many thousands of others flocked to their doors in the promise of cheaper prices and the offer of decent quality produce.
What we were unsure of at the time was whether Aldi would be able to match the quality of goods from other supermarkets that we had all become so used to.
Well here we are years up the line, and we now have the benefit of the actual experience of spending our hard earned cash with them.
So what have we learned?
Aldi are definitely cheaper than the other big name supermarkets, and for the most part the quality of their products is as good as if not better than the others.
Will we continue to shop with them, to right we will?
Many will not admit this, but we all owe Aldi a huge 'thank you', firstly for helping the British public out when money was tight, and secondly for honouring their promise to maintain the highest standards with the things they sell us.
Well done Aldi, and long may you continue.

I have shopped at Aldi for years because I feel that I get good value for money. I used to think that the fresh produce was its weakest area but this has definitely improved. The number of branded goods has also increased for those who prefer particular brands. The Ashby branch used to be fairly quiet (which I liked!) but has gradually been getting more popular. There would be limited spaces available during really busy periods but the car parking area has just been increased so this should improve the situation.

Very good British fresh fruit and vegetables.
Flowers last longer than other shops.
Always queues at checkouts.

Good place to fill the fridge with basic bits. Not so many organic/ healthy things...but I reckon you can't have everything..and lots of people are concern about affordable food , rather than how healthy the food is. After all good local supermarket

User

Good food good value, shame they can't keep up with the queues, if you have a sign saying that you'll open a new checkout if you are queuing past it, at end of the checkout and people are queuing past it you should probably open a new checkout rather than ignore the question.

I am very impressed with this store, there is plenty of merchandise to choose from, and the fruit and vegetables are always fresh, the prices are very competitive.

Amazing place to shop, everything cheep and good quality. Staff work hard and quick to make sure you leave with what you want and make sure that you don't spend a lifetime just waiting at the check out. Needs to be a bigger store and more parking. Close to annuities. All in all great but not perfect.

Good - Great bargains and food generally as good if not better standard than other supermarkets whilst being cheaper.
Helpful staff.
Love their skin care range - better for my sensitive skin than my old expensive ones.

Bad - often very busy and never seems to be enough staff for the tills.
Veg whilst good doesn't last as long.
Not enough parking.
Needs to offer gluten free breads etc.

User

Good prices and location. Aldi nappies are way better than any top branded ones.
