Today, between shows, the front of house team played our own version of 'Pin The Tail On The Donkey'. We played 'Make Tina The Star On The Tree'. Quite a lot of misses, but one absolute hit.

Dench returned to the Aldwych to perform the role of Ranyvskaya in the 1989 Sam Mendes production of the Cherry Orchard. This role was played by Peggy Ashcroft in 1961.

It's time for Tina Tuesday. In 1999, Tina performed alongside LeAnn Rimes, Brandy, Faith Hill, Whitney Houston, Mary J. Blige, Treach and Chaka Khan at New York's Beacon Theatre in 'Divas Live '99'. It aired live in America and was released on DVD by VH1. Tina sang four songs, including 'Proud Mary' which she performed with Elton John and Cher.

One year ago today, La Soiree made its West End debut at the Aldwych Theatre. Performed over three stages, with acts such as Amy G, The Chilly Brothers, Mallakhamb, Daredevil Chicken and La Serviette, the cheeky show entertained and thrilled the audience with songs, dance, comedy, cabaret and acrobatics. A Christmas the Aldwych will not forget in a hurry!

Went to the matinee performance of Tina on 14th April . What an amazing show. The energy of the entire cast was phenomenal. From little Tina, her mum, dad and sister , the opening scene in church , we were gripped with the story . I could not fault this production in any way . The lady who played Tina , was absolutely mesmerising . I could not believe the power she had . We all particularly loved the girl backing singers and all their moves . Also , the finale was, hands down , the best finale to a show I think I have ever seen . I did not want it to end. Fantastic , well done to all involved.

User

We absolutely adored last night - really talented cast from the little Tina to the big. The staff were incredible during our evacuation last night - and we were back in the theatre in no time at all.

User

Took my mum to a matinee performance of Tina The Musical, what a fantastic show and stunning performances from all of the cast. The theatre staff couldn't have been more helpful, the access staff in particular were great as my mum has limited mobility, they made the whole visit even more pleasurable. Thankyou.

User

The show - Tina - was fantastic but we'd also like to say a special thank you to Lauren and Ashley who were so helpful and attentive to my Mum who has mobility issues

Seating a bit of an issue in stalls under circle but no less enjoyable

Saw Tina -The musical last night. One of the best shows I have every seen. The cast were amazing. The vocals were fantastic and if you closed your eyes you could actually believe you were at a Tina Turner concert as the person who played Tina as an adult was spot on with vocals and moves. A throughly enjoyable night of entertainment. Well done to you all! The theatre was clean, seats were great (A21 & A22 Grand Circle ) and we could tell straight away that it had been recently decorated. A great job had been done to bring it back to it's former glory. Staff were polite and helpful too. Well done all!!

User

Omg my husband and I went to see Tina Turner musical absolutely fantastic my goodness that girl has some energy and wow what a voice not forgetting the rest of the cast they were fabulous too, in the words of Tina herself “Simply the Best”

I was astounded at how much I enjoyed this show. I had no idea Carol King was so talented. I grew up listening to my mum singing It Might As Well Rain Until September around the house as it's one of her favourite songs, so I bought us tickets for her birthday. We had the best time and I spoke to my mum today and she didn't sleep well last night because she couldn't stop thinking about how great our day was.

I would highly recommend seeing the show, it was worth every penny and more!

User

I don’t know about the Aldwych theatre but Tina the musical was fantastic. Actually, Aldwych pretty good too.

User

Fantastic show. Went last weekend to the matinee performance with some friends and I was expecting it to be good but it really exceeded my expectations! Tina was amazing. Well done all!

User

Excellent show, the audience went wild dancing in the aisles!

Been to see Tina this afternoon (14/4/18) with my husband. What a brilliant show. The cast did a fantastic job and the actress playing Tina was incredible. I was blown away by her performance. I am a Tina Turner fan and I was lucky enough to see Tina perform live on stage 10 years ago and I can honestly say that watching today’s performance at the end was just like watching Tina. She looked just like Tina moved just like Tina and sang just like Tina. I would give more than five stars if I could. The whole entire audience was up dancing by the end and singing along. Absolutely Loved it.

User

Beautiful was a fantastic show. I ordered my tickets online and the simplicity of picking them up was great. I got great value for my money, we had front row seats so obviously loads of leg room. The security on entering was first class, it was straight forward and fast. I would definitely visit this theatre again, depending, of course on what's showing. Highly recommend 'Beautiful' though, the singing and acting was fantastic, didn't realise Carol King wrote so many songs for so many others.

User

A lovely little theatre in the heart of London. Absolutely loved watching Beautiful ~ The Carol King story on Saturday night (03/06/17) All the Staff were very friendly, ticket collection was very easy & security was painless and done with politness. We were right at the back and had a fantastic view, the only thing was the lack of leg room but that didn't effect our wonderful night. I will definitely be coming back.

Thank you

The staff here are absolutely awful. I am a disabled person and due to the steepness off the seating I could not take my seat. I have a rate condition called Cataplexy. I spoke with Ann hashtari trying to explain my problem. And she said “we have hundreds of people here who all have their own take on what there issues are”. I have Cataplexy. It is not my own take on some petty issues. I have Cataplexy and there is absolutely nothing I can do about it. I am shocked and horrified that this person who represents the theatre would say this to a disabled person.

On Friday 25th May 2018 I visited with my friend the Aldwych theatre in order to see the performance of “Tina – The Musical”.

My friend and I were sitting on seats L7 and L8. Next to us on seats L9, L10, L11, L12 and possibly L13 was group of women who during the whole performance were chatting, taking videos of almost the whole second half of the performance, eating crisps and arguing with everybody around them who asked them to be quite.

My friend and I have asked the woman 4 times to be quite and let us enjoy the performance but instead we received verbal abuse. They did not stop chatting but instead they used their smartphones to record the show and themselves. The bright light of the smartphone’s screen was very annoying and did not allowed us to see the performance properly.

I had to get up in the middle of the second half of the performance and request from one of the theatre's employees to do something about it. She moved from the back of the theatre to the front in order to check the situation but at the same time she had to asked another group of woman sitting on seats H1, H2 and H3 to stop filming, shouting, dancing, chatting, etc

The theatre employee stopped the group on row H four times (twice for filming, once for dancing and another for signing) but unfortunately she did not do anything for the group of woman next to us. The two ladies in front of me as well as many other people around have also complained to the loud woman.

At the end of the performance I spoke with Claire who I believe is the manager of the theatre. I explained her the situation while there were other people waiting in the queue to complain as well. I was physically upset and shaking from the two and half hours “experience” of intimidation and arguments with those women.

The main purposes of going to the theatre are entertainment and enjoyment of the culture in London. A night out in the theatre supposes to be fun and enjoyment. Unfortunately while the part of the performance that we managed to watch was good the experience in this theatre was dreadful.

I have been to almost all London theatres hundreds of times without any bad experiences but I cannot say the same for my experience in the Aldwych theatre. I cannot see how someone will recommend a night out to friends and family if he feels that they will have such an experience like mine.

Aldwych theatre had made announcements about signing, dancing and using phones before the performance started. Those announcements are pointless if nobody enforces them. How many times do you need to stop someone from disturbance before the theatre take an action?
