Alexander Devine Children'S Hospice Service

About Alexander Devine Children'S Hospice Service

Our children's hospice service provides essential support to local children with life-limiting and life-threatening conditions and their families. It was founded by the Devine family in memory of their son Alexander, who sadly passed away from a rare brain tumour in 2006. Their personal experience led them to realise a vital need for a local children's hospice service. We currently support over 120 children and their families. Our service means very different things to each of them and as such our care is very personal. Whatever and wherever the need, we are dedicated to bringing comfort and care to these families. We offer respite care, specialist play, symptom management, family support, end of life care and bereavement support. Care is delivered either at home, in hospital, in schools or within our very own children's hospice, which was opened in Summer 2018.
