Alexander House & Utopia Spa - Part Of The Alexander Hotel Collection

This property far exceeded our expectations. Everything was 5 star! From the moment we arrived, we were treated like royalty. Every request we had was cheerfully filled. Every staff member we came into contact with went out of their way to make our day. The grounds were impeccable, and the walking trail to the lake was incredibly beautiful and serene. The Welly boots provided to to guests was such a nice touch. The food and drinks at the champagne bar and at the restaurant was delicious. Our bartender went out of her way to make us feel comfortable and gave us interesting information about the history of the property. The room was beautifully decorated and the beds and pillows were especially comfortable. We have a massage booked at the spa later this afternoon, and I have no doubt that the spa experience will be equally impressive as our hotel experience. We travel frequently, and have stayed at many hotels across the world, but the Alexander House has provided us with the most phenomenal experience ever. I have never been compelled to leave a review for any hotel, but This stay has Been so incredible that I am leaving this review during our stay! This stay was relaxing, and exactly what we needed. Thank you! We will most definitely be back!

We stayed at Alexander House this weekend and I must say it was fabulous. The spa is excellent, it has everything you could want, this includes, two jacuzzi's, a large cold plunge pool, huge whirlpool, an outdoor wooden sauna hut. There are also steam rooms and saunas located in the individual changing rooms. We particularly loved the relaxation room, relaxing lighting with comfy loungers. The cocktails are delicious and the food(although limited menu) is very good. We stayed in the Hatfield which they kindly upgraded for us when we arrived! Which was a lovely touch and greatly appreciated. The room was sublime. The grounds are beautiful and well manicured. The champagne bar is nicely decorated and inviting. Unfortunately the only thing that lets' this gorgeous place down is it's SERVICE. The receptionists are fab and the SPA workers are fab. We ordered cocktails and although they were DELICIOUS they took 15/20 minutes to come, in the restaurant we had to wait far too long to be seated, other couples were also ahead of us, complaining about the wait. Overall I would come back BUT the service has to be improved. We would like to thank the staff and everyone who worked there for making out stay so lovely.

What a fantastic venue. From the moment we walked in we were greeted by kind and courteous staff and giving a full tour of the facilities. We were given an upgrade and stayed in a breathtaking garden suite which is a lot more superior than any other spa hotel we have stayed in before. The addition of cake and balloons for my husbands birthday was very thoughtful and appreciated. The spa was bliss, very clean and lots of different indoor jacuzzi options and the outdoor spa area was very intimate. The sauna outside was a fantastic addition. I would highly recommend this for anybody celebration a special occasion or just requiring a relaxing night away. Truly magical. Cannot wait to book again.

Absolutely sensational stay here. The staff were absolutely lovely and so friendly. We got a tour when first arriving and the house and grounds are beautiful. In the evening there was a lovely piano musician as we strolled down to dinner. Dinner was beautiful and delicious. The spa was lovely, we had a treatment and this was stunning. It really shows that they pay attention to every detail. Thank you for our stay, we cannot wait to come back!

I cannot express how much we enjoyed our stay. From the second we arrived last weekend the staff were 10/10. Our concierge was brilliant at welcoming us and showing us around. We popped into the bar and the young girl making our cocktails was so sweet and made perfect cocktails. The spa beats all others that we've been to. Even a small problem with the sauna door seemed to be fixed so quickly we didn't even notice.
The staff really do make this place and have exactly the right balance between being professional and still very cheerful. We will 100% be back.

Had a delicious champagne cream tea with friends. The food was lovely and the staff very attentive. All served in a very impressive room which made it a very relaxing afternoon.

I visited Alexander Hotel last week. Let me start with the positives, the staff were lovely, the Spa and pool facilities were all clean and beautiful. I also had a wonderful massage that was relaxing. However the room advertised made no mention of the fact it is an attic Room and the picture attached shows a regular room. In reality every time I walked around the bed I needed to bend down or risk bashing my head. The bathroom is extremely old and it took 15 minutes for the water to warm up which I feel is unacceptable for a five star hotel. Feel Really let down especially as when I checked in they mentioned that the hotel was not full at all, I would have expected a normal room.

Beautiful experience at the Spa. Lunch was amazing and the treatments were of a high quality. Will be going back as soon as possible. Refreshments readily available and plenty of clean towels as toiletries available. So much space with multiple Jacuzzis and two saunas and a steam room. Pool to swim and many indoor and outdoor beds to relax including a dedicated relaxation room for after treatments. Cocktails available poolside via phone order.

From the minute we arrived the customer service was phenomenal, we were greeted with a warm and genuine reception from Reece who gave us the fantastic news that we had been complimentary upgraded! As you can imagine, we were over the moon as this was completely unexpected - the weekend we spent in the Garden Suite could not have been more perfect. The room was beautiful and luxurious, the private garden was such a treat (especially in the sun!) and the personal touches (personal concierge, breakfast in bed, dessert in our room) made it incredibly special for us. We felt completely at home and found it hard to leave our room!

Keith was especially friendly, he was a great character and was able to assist with any queries we had quickly and efficiently. We also received outstanding customer service during our delicious meal on Saturday night from Andreas and Stefan. They were talkative, funny and insightful when telling us about the courses. Ollie delivered multiple things to our room, always within minutes of us asking and with a cheery air.

Your staff did everything possible to make our trip the most spectacular it could be and we needed to personally thank you all. Our stay has been the only thing we've spoken about since, and we cannot wait to come back - it truly was the weekend of a lifetime.

We came here before flying out for our honeymoon. I had only mentioned once that we were getting married when booking and over the course of two days we were congratulated on arrival and treated amazingly by all staff. All around the hotel we were greeted by name and it just felt like everyone knew us and wanted to provide the best service they could for us. Would really recommend this place to anyone and everyone.

We went to Alexander house for afternoon tea, and it was extremely special. The grounds and house are stunning and the staff are so helpful. Definitely a gem I have found and will visit again

Unbeatable place to take a relaxing break. Beautiful building that buzzes with history. Great staff and the food is gorgeous. Our room had a view to die for. The pools and Jacuzzis put you into another dimension of relaxation. A quiet serene atmosphere lulls your spirit into a deeper perspective of tranquility. The whole place is good for the soul

About the best service I've experienced. The staff were extremely friendly and proactive.

Stayed in one of the two-year-old garden suites, which are spacious, clean and well-equipped, each with a veranda. Negatives were the temperamental mood lighting and the difficulty of getting hold of the personal concierge. The spa is lovely, although the changing rooms could do with spinners for swimsuits and more seating. Our 10 course tasting menu was delicious and the staff attentive. We'd definitely stay again.
