beautiful, great cakes, a little gem of a place
What a little hidden gem. Very helpful staff regarding plants etc and a sweet little outside cafe with grapes hanging from vines. Beans on toast which was heaven. Lovely morning.
Today I arrived at this wonderful coffee shop and I was pleasantly surprised employees but also atmsfera. It is a place of note 10 to relax and drink a cup of tea. good luck. Thx
The best place! Romantic, beautiful, with very kind people. Let's go there!
My favourite place. A hidden oasis where I can enjoy good coffee and amazing cakes in an unusual but inspiring environment of plants and memorabilia. Staff friendly and plants healthy. This place is good for the mind, body and soul.
My favourite place, just love to go to this hidden lovely secret garden and enjoy a tea or coffee. Can not stop to take photos either. Highly recommend for everyone any age ❤️
My daughter and I had some lovely cakes in a unique surrounding, oddly different and all the better for it. So much better than the CoStarNero franchise rubbish!
Most unexpected delight. Loved the garden centre and the querky cafe. Most importantly, the coffee was good too.
Lovely little place .
Lovely hidden spot. Every crook and cranny has something to look at. Full of great plants and vintage curios. The food is simple but great including yummy cakes. Oh and the best Earl Grey tea for miles. Best place to sit, forget the outside world and unwind.
Love it, love it, love it! Cute place, amazing cakes and soup, great staff x
I visited today for the first time today and know I shall be a regular visitor. It is like a grown-ip's sweet shop! It is a gem and the staff ooze friendliness...
How lovely to discover this place! 8years since I last visited Penge and was delighted to discover this little Oasis. Wonderful environment in which to enjoy my Penge Latte. Thanks.
Great place to drink coffee/tea eat cake etc amongst some interesting bric-à-brac and beautiful plants. Run by nice people and a if you're lucky you might catch sight of the large and lovely b & w cat
Divine hidden gem!!! A little corner of eco garden, homey yummy heaven xx
Coffee, tea, cakes and loads of pretty plants. Team are really nice too but please don't tell too many people because I want less queues.
Bought the best ever Christmas tree here. For once non-drop really is and great value too. Looks great in our living room.
Alexandra Nurseries is a little oasis. Created in the garden of the Victorian caretaker's house of what is now the Alexandra Cottages conservation area, this bijou nursery run by two friendly, advice-proffering landscape gardeners who live on site not only sells top-quality plants, pots and gardening accoutrements, but has a superb café serving tea and homemade cakes. Browse the crafts, gifts and vintage homewares in the shop before admiring the work of local artists and artisans in the little gallery-cum-tearoom above. In summer, enjoy homemade lemonade (or, on occasions, locally brewed beer) under the vast, 100-year-old vine, heavy with grapes. In winter, enjoy soup and local bread next to a brazier, with blankets thoughtfully provided to combat the chill. Music evenings and make-and-do sessions for adults and children complete the picture of a place that's established itself as the hub of our community.
A real find. Beautiful garden centre & cafè, full of character and obviously loved by the owners and their customers.
