For our York based followers...

*Update*
As all of our regular clients will be aware, unfortunately we are no longer operating in the York area.
We have relocated to Berwick Upon Tweed, Northumberland and taken a break during the move. We also have a new (human) addition to the family due in April so we're taking some much needed time off!
... We are still working behind the scenes to make some updates to our website, price list and marketing materials and we're very excited to be launching in the Berwick area later in the year!
Thank you to all of our lovely clients and supporters. It has been an honour getting to know all of your furry friends and we are missing them all!

Happy International Cat Day!

Loved visiting this nervous boy and seeing him come out of his shell :-).

Lovely reunion highlighting the importance of microchipping, but where has Boo been all these years?

Black cats have amazing personalities. It always makes me so sad to see them left behind.

When driving home from our trip out today we witnessed a cat being hit by a bus :-(. Obviously we turned round where it was safe to do so and went back to help. I found the amount of people driving past very sad however it did make me think about being prepared for all eventualities. I always have gloves, a cat carrier and disposable sheets in my car but I know most people don't. A few things you could do if you witness something similar:
* Stop in a safe place - don't put yo...urself at risk
* If able, move the cat off the road to prevent further damage.
* Transport to the nearest vets if you can. If you are unable to transport, contact the RSPCA or a local rescue group (Band of Rescuers and Missing Cats in York are particularly helpful in our area).
* Have a look round the local area. Are there houses nearby? Knock on a few doors to try and find owner.
* The vet or a rescue group who attend will usually scan for a microchip. If they are unable to identify an owner, post on lost and found pet groups, put a notice up in the area and ensure the most local vets are aware.
Sadly this puss did not survive although a small mercy was that she didn't suffer, and the owner was found straight away so she is back with her family.
RIP puss :-(

Oh my!

Happy World Snake Day!
Snakes can make suprisingly rewarding pets and after the initial setup costs they are fairly low maintenance.
Cornflake (the corn snake) is now much bigger and stronger than he was in this photo, but is very placid, inquisitive and used to regular handling.

We are very busy behind the scenes at the moment, working on updating our paperwork and new branding. Keep your eyes peeled for our new logo!
