This is the perfect place for whatever you want to do. It has walks for people on their own, in groups or with their dogs or horses, a lovely restaurant, Go Ape, information centre, bike hire and service and play areas.

I thoroughly recommend it and hope you have a great time .

Nice visit. We took the 4k Pound lake trail, enjoyed it immensely as, for the best part it was empty, impressive for New Years eve. Incredibly impressed by the owl, woodpecker and log pile play areas, dispite having no children. The cafe was heaving but we got seated outside, only down point was the cueing and waiting for food at the cafe, there was no structure to the cueue and nowhere specific to wait where we weren't in the way. Although, saying that we got served really quickly

Myself and my 3 children visited last weekend for the first time. We originally came just to see the Gruffalo but ended up spending many hours enjoying the play park and the cafe too. Well worth the hour drive and we will be back!

User

My young family and I visited for the first time today specifically to go on the Gruffalo hunt! What an amazing day especially with the only expense was parking for those organised enough to bring a picnic for lunch. Not many family adventures can boast all of this at such low cost! We’re not organised so we got to sample the cafe which was just lovely. Bit of a queue but it moved very fast and food came out really quickly and was lovely. Great choice of seating area inside and out with sofas where I could breastfeed youngest at ease. Park was great (although benches could do with some refurbishment as wobbly). Fantastic family day had by all of us. Thank you!

User

Loved everything about here even on a winters day, can’t wait to come back on a summers day

User

I go there frequently and the girl serving in the cafe was absolutely lovely I forgot to pick up one of my drinks and she said don't worry Pay for it now and pick it up on your way out no worries and she remembered me from yesterday saying ahhh yes you have a card it's little things that mean a lot

Hello

We visited Alice Holt today with our 2 dogs and toddler. It’s always pleasurable as everyone is free to roam and enjoy the outdoors.

Unfortunately, there were two horse riders being extremely rude to runners, walkers and bikers. They were shouting at people to slow down (even a lady in full flow doing well at some jogging) and telling people that they were scaring the horses.

This really wasn’t the case and the shouting and being ‘posh’ rude really did make people feel unwelcome. I was wondering what the policy was on horse riding? Surely, if you can’t control such a big animal, or the animal is nervous then don’t take them to such a public place.

They were lucky my toddler wasn’t having a tantrum or running and shouting after our dogs!

All the best!

Had the most amazing time at the Wreath Workshop. Really nice and relaxed time.

Would suggest to improve it with having maybe a bit more time (we struggled to finish it within the proposed time).

User

Had heard good things about the place and it didn’t disappoint. The only snag was waiting half an hour to get into car park. First day of half term and sun shining so the queue to park was long. Obviously someone had the foresight to open an overflow car park so my sister didn’t have to wait as long. Once in though great facilities and kids loved the various walking trails and adventure park. Plenty of area to sit and eat lunch and drinks reasonable inside cafe. All in all a good day was had.

User

Fabulous time doing the Gruffalo Trail with our son on his third birthday, he absolutely loved it. This was a Wednesday in February, not in school holidays so there was hardly anyone there, maybe 30 cars in the car park max. I can imagine at peak times it is an altogether different experience, but pick your moment if you can and it is idyllic.

Great food in the cafe and friendly, helpful staff. Looking forward to returning in the future.

User

We love Alice holt. Great place for kids and dogs. But Hate £9 parking charges for less than 4 hours in half term. Why put prices up in holiday? ? You should make it affordable for everyone and not be so greedy.

User

Took the kids for a new years day stroll. Well laid out trail and kids loved the owl, woodpecker and log pile play features. Cafe was very crowded and no seating inside but staff friendly and happy to make kids drinks cooler for me. One of car park payment machines was out of order and a running event meant the queue to pay for parking was about thirty deep at one point. Definitely somewhere I will revisit in the warmer weather. A laminated more durable map would be great (only found paper ones).

User

Had a lovely time today doing the Gruffalo hunt with our four year old daughter - the trail is just long enough to keep toddlers interested. The restaurant was great, and the playground was a big hit! The only reason I haven’t given it five stars is that the Gruffalo statues (especially the Gruffalo’s Child) could do with some attention and re-painting. But otherwise, it was really good value, and a great day out!

User

I have always enjoyed coming to Alice Holt, great for the kids and the dog, but am afraid the parking charges are just way too high now - 5 pounds for 2 hours parking is just crazy!!!!! Such a shame to have to take it off the list of places to visit regularly...

User

Won’t be going back till they sought out pay machines. Such a shame because it would s lovely there but to have to queue for 45 mins to pay spoils the whole experience

User

A lovely walk but terrible organisation considering it’s half term. We queued for an hour to get in and the same to pay for the car park at the end (resulting in the more expensive time slot!)

More measures to deal with all your half term visitors please!

User

A fantastic place to visit but sadly extortionate peak time prices for car parking (weekends and school holidays) mean that we won't be going so often!

User

The new payment system for parking was a shambles - one of the machines wasn't working and the queues at the pay stations were ridiculous. There were long queues when we arrived mid-afternoon, and we still had to queue for nearly half an hour at 4:45pm. Why don't you provide an online payment system? Such a shame as it's always been a lovely place to bring the children for walks.

User

I bought a Christmas tree two weeks ago (Sunday 3rd) from Alice Holt it was a Nordic fir non drop and all the needles are coming off?? I can’t get hold of anyone at Alice Holt and have tried calling many times???
