Hannah Swift broke her ankle last year and whilst recuperating at home, decided to use her time productively by making and selling Christmas decorations to friends and family.
Hannah's hard work paid off and raised a brilliant £50 for Alice House patients!
She's back on her feet now and we'd like to wish her all the best with the rest of her recovery.

Hope everyone gets to spend Valentine's Day with the people they would most like to and have a lovely day (if that's your thing of course...)
If you are having a nice time with your significant other, please spare a thought for those people who are lonely or missing a loved one, sometimes a kind word can go a long way 💜 #valentinesday

Fantastic to be working with Co-op Funeralcare on our Memory Stroll event this year, which they have kindly sponsored. It was a pleasure to welcome Daniel to Alice House earlier this week to discuss plans for the event: https://bit.ly/2GgtYNM

Words cannot describe this amazing Hospice. My beautiful Mam spent the last 6 days of her life here, and I couldn't have possibly asked for any more from the angels that work here. They made sure my Mam was comfortable at all times, while showing genuine love, care and time to her needs. However, they went further than that and gave the whole of our family so much love and support too. They made us feel as though it was a home from home and I will be eternally grateful to them always xx

We donated mam’s clothes to Alice House after she sadly passed away. This was extremely hard. Yesterday we revived a letter to thank us for the donations & to inform us they had generated over £200 for the charity. I can’t tell you how much better this made us feel.

We are so sad to have lost such a special person from our lives but knowing he felt safe and well cared for by the amazing staff and volunteers at Alice House help us as family to make the most of the time we had together. You are all amazing people and we will be eternally greatful for what you have given us - thank you so much, you are truely appreciated x

User

This place and the staff in it are absolutely wonderful. My dad only got to stay here for a week before he sadly passed away, but I dont know how we would have managed without this place. The care and attention given to everyone is second to none. Will never be able to thank you all enough xxx

User

They are fantastic people who work there, everyone is an angel and a dedicated team.

They couldn't have treated our mam any better if they had tried, she loved her time in the hospice.

They have a lot of time for the families also, including those people who have lost loved ones and need help moving on. Myself included.

Keep the good work going, Hartlepool and District Hospice is a very worthy cause.

User

Such a kind and caring place to volunteer. The staff are always positive and approachable. Events are very well organised and I feel honoured to be a part of the Alice House Hospice.

I would like to say a huge thank you to all of the staff at Alice House. You made the last weeks of my Aunty's life the best they could be and for that myself and our family are truly grateful. Thank you for all of your care and support during a time of great need...you made a difficult time that much easier to deal with.

The care at this hospice is 1st class and I would recommend it to any family as a place to spend quality time with your loved ones in a safe and comfortable environment.

I cant thank the hospice enough for the care and support given to me, my husband and our children and families. We were made to feel like the hospice was our second home. When my husband was admitted we had wanted to be married. They organised our wedding in 24 hours. WOW. Our day was truly amazing and magical. We couldnt have done anymore ourselves. We both smiled all day and we created beautiful memories for all the family at the most awful time. Paul passed away 2 weeks and 2 days later peacefully with me and his mam at his side. Paul told me that the staff were angels on earth and i totally agree. The staff were amazing. Thank you so much for giving us so many happy memories.

I am sure I am speaking on behalf of myself and all the family, that it is hard to put into words the gratitude we feel towards everyone at Alice house. My brother in law David Garrington has just spent his final weeks in the hospice. The love and support that was given to David and all the family is unmeasurable. We would like to thank every member of the team for the care that was given to David, as we could not see each and everyone of you. Thank you all from the bottom of our heartsxx

User

Although my dad only spent a week in the care unit, it was so obvious that everyone involved with his care are truly dedicated to their role. A wonderful place for anyone to spend their last days, I feel so blessed that dad made it there. I can't thank everyone enough for dads care and that shown to our family members too. You are, simply the best

User

After an awful 10 days in hospital words will never be enough to express our overwhelming gratitude to the staff at Alice House for the support and care provided to our beloved Auntie Jennie in the last 2 days of her life. The most caring people we have ever had the privilege of meeting. Nothing was too much trouble. The homely touches - a fleecy blanket around her, a comfy recliner chair for us to rest on. Unlimited cups of tea and hugs from nurses. Having the doctor spend over an hour talking through everything with us when admitted. Also seeing her stay until past 8pm when her day ended at 5 o'clock. Such dedicated, gentle and attentive care with us involved in every decision. We will support the Hospice for the rest of our lives. From the bottom of our hearts Thank You. With love from Clare, Nicola & the family of Jennie Elliott xxx
