Thames Barge "Alice" is one of the largest of the Solent-based sailing vessels and will give you the most amazing sailing experience in the Solent and the surrounding area. She is moored at the very entrance to Portsmouth harbour at the fantastic Gunwharf Marina. Once you board her you can be out of the harbour with sails set in just 15 minutes. Enjoy sailing in a classic Thames sailing barge, thinking ahead and carefully planning the whole journey. The Solent is the best sailing area in the UK with great tides, UK wind, many ports and sheltered by the Isle of Wight - I have sailed here for over 50 years. Besides sailing, "Alice" is a great venue, with a large interior space, berths (beds) for up to 17 people and a really large covered space on deck for our great British weather.
