About Alim-Et

ALIM-ET is a family-run café, restaurant and take-away with two kitchens; one specialising in Turkish Meze & Grill for lunch and dinner time and the other specialising in British Breakfast in the morning, in order to meet expectations at all times of day in a friendly atmosphere. We have over 28 years of experience in the industry and are continuing to strive for a great culinary experience.

The name ALIM-ET is a combination of the names of the brothers that founded the restaurant, Ali and Ahmet. In addition, ‘et’is the Turkish word for meat and we specialise in grilled delicacies.

We operate on an ethos of fresh meat and produce, concentrating on rich flavours and culinary techniques that give our dishes a contemporary edge in order to appeal to all tastes. All our ingredients are sourced from reputable suppliers and 95% of our dishes are made in-house by our experienced chefs. We take pride in the food we prepare and strive to maintain the high standards in quality, tastes and flavours that we hope will make us stand out. In order to achieve this, we employ over 25 staff including butchers, fishmongers and bakers.

A family dream has become reality with the building of this brand new establishment and we are excited to share our love for our home country cuisine with the community. ALIM-ET runs within a Victorian-style building in Larkfield that sits on London road with a large private car parking facility, making us easy to access at all times. Our service consists of two divisions, eat-in or take-away.

Very enjoyable lunch, food was delicious - restaurant has a lovely relaxed feeling, beautifully decorated and welcoming atmosphere.

Drinks are pricey so bear in mind.... especially when ordering soda water (£2.40) to go with your wine!

User

Sumptuous Turkish & Arabic Cuisine in Town. Ambiance was great and the service was prompt and there was a warmth in the attitude of service staff. 100/100 for overall service quality. Halal food is over n above all.

Our first visit tonight and we both LOVED the food! Absolutely delicious would definitely recommend a visit, we had the set meal and tried dishes we wouldn’t normally go for. Fantastic!

User

Lovely food the seafood mixed grill was lovely as was Hubbies lamb kofta. Calamari from the hot meze platter was the best I’ve had.

User

User

Amazing food and great service I booked in for my 30th birthday for a table of 25 and can't fault anything. The communication before hand was great and we all had an amazing time. Some of the best Mediterranean food I've had, would definitely recommend x

User

Went for my mums in law birthday today after she researched it and booked a table for 9 in the week. Lovely decor. We were given main menu so I queried where the lunch time special menu was to be told that it is only Monday to Friday. Queried where it states that was told on their Facebook page and website. Went on the website absolutely no mention of the lunch time menu only being during the week and only one mention on an old post on their Facebook page not everyone has Facebook. No apology offered and told they would not be able to do it as do not have the ingredients strange as most of the menu is the same as the main menu. Would of been nice if more of an apology or gesture of goodwill was offered. But the setting and decor is lovely and food was superb even if some items are quite overpriced especially the kids meals. The mixed meat platter was excellent.

User

We had a lovely evening. The food was really tasty, The calamari especially. I must remember not to order so much, I didn't have room for the Baklava. The staff were great. It was my son's 50th birthday. When we lit the candles on his cake they played 'Happy birthday' and Celebrations for him. Altogether a very pleasant atmosphere. Would definitely recommend.

I visited Alim-et Sunday afternoon, the restaurant was fairly quiet perhaps 4 other tables being served at the same time as us. The restaurant decor is lovely, it is quite cosy and I imagine when at full capacity it can feel very cramped but we were very comfortable. The food was very nice, tasty and very well presented. The main meals were very generous in portion size. I did feel a few items on the menu were considerably over priced. The children's menu for example was over £7 for fish fingers, chips and a drink. Some of the starters and drinks are also (in my opinion) inflated somewhat. My children prefer Turkish food and the restaurant was only too happy to oblige in allowing me to order an adult main and split it for my kids. The children were offered a kids ice cream after (single scoop served in a plastic penguin) this was charged at over £4, i do think there are some items on the menu that could be priced more reasonable. Service was a little slow even with an empty restaurant but not so much that I would complain. Relaxed atmosphere and good food, overall we were happy and would likely return.

We went for a family meal on Saturday for mine and my brothers birthday celebrations. While I can’t fault the food which was incredibly tasty and good portion sizes our visit was let down by an issue with our bill at the end of the night. We had ordered the house red wine at the beginning of our meal and when ordering a second we ordered the Yakut which was only slightly more expensive at £19.95. When the waitress brought the bottle over she made a big show of it being an award winning wine but at no point did she say it wasn’t the wine we had ordered, or how much it cost. When checking over the bill we were surprised to see the bottle of Yakut being charged at £30.95! There was no wine on the list for this price and when we queried this we were told the waitress brought a different wine over to us and we agreed to have it. After arguing that she didn’t tell us the price or that it was a different wine the manager asked us if we would pay £25 for the wine and meet in the middle! Needless to say I was extremely angry and refused to pay anything more than the £19.95 that we ordered. It has definitely put me off going back to Alim-et which is a shame as it is literally over the road from us

User

Just left after a adequate meal. Although had to wait nearly 20 mins for drinks. 3 of our 4 meals arrived 4th meal was incorrect had to wait a further 15mins later. A courtesy drink for the person waiting wouldve been appreciated.fairly priced for what we had. Had to ask for bread for the table as drinks and 4th dish took so long.

User

I cannot fault the food in any way, it was delicious however everything else about the experience was disappointing. There are far too many tables crammed in, so waiting staff can’t actually move around the restaurant and there was no order to how the waiters were working. They were all just all over the place. I ordered some cacik to go with my main (as it wasn’t as saucey as I’m used to a Tavuk Beyti being).... over 20minutes later I saw the staff all trying to work out which table the cacik was for. Obviously I told them not to bother as it was too late now. Then surprisingly when I asked for the bill it took 3minutes to arrive but they had over charged me... they rectified immediately but it’s not the point. This restaurant has so much potential and if I could order the restaurant menu to take away, I’d definitely do so.

User

Can’t fault the take away food but their price increases are way over the top. Only accepting payments by cash doesn’t do them any favours either. 2 sure fire ways to lose customers.

User

I went in their tonite . And got meat and chips . As I was waiting . 3 people in kitchen on their phones . One person took food of a plate twice and sent it out . When I got home to eat my food had to leave half of it as it had so much hard gristle almost chipped my tooth not happy

User

Having read the good reviews and wanting to try this restaurant since opening it was a huge disappointment. It took far too long to be served, the table next to us arrived after us and were served first. The hot Mezze for four was just suitable for two given there was just two of everything and it was way overpriced. Unfortunately the stag night killed the atmosphere and we weren’t the only table that requested to be moved. It was too loud that we couldn’t hear each other to converse. The tables were far too close together, one card machine on Friday evening to serve the whole restaurant is inadequate and NO LAHMACUN!
