A very unexpected day off today, spent some time relaxing but then I found this beauty at the recycling centre. I had been promising myself a new box for all my DANIEL SMITH: Artists' Materials tubes so a little upcycling has taken place!

My summer students and I travelled to the picturesque Milton Abbey to enjoy some on location painting and to gather inspiration for future artworks. It was such a luxury to paint outside and Jaz has captured it from start to finish. We've added some written commentary to help you with your painting projects, but if you have any questions please leave them in the comments.

Sold Out but you can still tune in live on the day...

I've added a new FAQ page to my website to help you with any questions or issues you may have. This page will grow and if there are any questions and answers I've missed please let me know in the comments below.

Every summer we upgrade a section of Downend Farm Studio with new equipment or furniture so that our clients and staff are comfortable in their surroundings. This year itŌĆÖs my turn! A new desk and new table for my demonstrations but in order to make it better, you have to make it worse ¤ś▒¤ś▒¤ś▒

Hey everyone :-) I could do with your help with a survey I am currently conducting, it should only take five minutes and I'd be a very grateful artist...

On Wednesday I took my summer school students to the beautiful Milton Abbey Church and Landscape to take photos and for some on-location drawing and painting. Here's a short video of our trip and sometime soon I'll share another one of a quick on-location artwork I completed there.

Happy Sunday everyone! My assistant Jaz has just added some new royalty-free images to the All A-Board Artists membership page and they're ideal for a quick weekend painting project.

The wonderful Alison managed to raise a total of ┬Ż1,800 for Oakleaf Enterprise, a mental health charity based in Guildford, Surrey! Alison's work is absolutely stunning! We love the fact that Alison set herself a challenge and not only did she achieve this challenge by taking on a different art project each day for 30 days but she also surpassed her fundraising target! Amaxing! Thank you so much Alison, this money will be used to enable our art sessions here at Oakleaf to continue running!

The first video is facinating can't wait for the next one

Our small art group has enjoyed 2 workshops with Alison and both have been excellent. She demonstrates what we should aim to achieve and is always really helpful and encouraging. Most of all, however, she makes it fun! We all enjoy her workshops, without exception, and look forward to the next one.

I would love to meet you Ali! I love your work. Very inspiring. And I appreciate, very much, the warm support you have shown me. Hope to meet up at some point in the future.

I am too far away (Spain) too come this time in person to the Dorset art week and enjoy Alison's art and workshops. I will follow the activities from distance. I love Alison's way of sharing her art, her knowledge of all techniques, her personal style. There is a lot to learn from her, I am looking forward to do so.

Had a one to one lesson with Alison who helped me work out a few very important issues I was missing with my art. Thank you so much! IŌĆÖll definitely be back. I love your work by the way. YouŌĆÖre and inspiration xxx

For anyone who can't attend Alison's workshops I highly recommend the Brusho ... and beyond DVD. I have been playing with Brusho for some months but only managed to sit down and watch the DVD recently. I watched the whole DVD in one sitting and felt as though a whole new world of things to try has been opened up to me. Can't wait to 'play' and will put Experimental Watercolour DVD on my wish list!
