Alive Corn Exchange Description

The Grade II listed facade of King's Lynn Corn Exchange is a testimony to the splendour of Victorian architecture which now fronts a state of the art, multipurpose venue.

The attractive and comfortable auditorium has flexible seating, within which 733 seats can be cleared and stored compactly in 1 1 /2 hours to reveal a large, open space to accommodate1200 standing - a flexibility which allows us to host a varied range of events from classical concerts to conferences, craft fairs to comedians.

The acoustics have been well-designed and are able to be varied to suit alternative uses /occupation of the building. Acoustic baffles ensure excellent sound quality and with a technical specification to match, any event can easily be accommodated.

First rate dressing rooms, spacious backstage and get-in areas are accessed by ample and close parking facilities.

In order to minimise the use of the heating and cooling plant the air conditioning system involves air displacement and a sophisticated system of controls. The mechanical and electrical, and acoustic designs have been well thought out, and the building operates highly efficiently and is pleasant in terms of both temperature and light.

A flagship for accessibility both front of house and backstage, wheelchair users and companions are fully integrated into the main body of seating and both an induction loop and infra-red hearing system are in operation.

What a fantastic night for Beauty and the Beast so funny and as a bonus my grand daughter was one of the younger dancers

User

Went with friends to watch Jon Richardson (very funny). Have been here many times as this is a great venue which offers a variety of shows. Friendly staff and even if you are seated at the very back (which we were this time) you still have a reasonably good view.

User

Went here to Jon Richardson and it was my first time here. Nice bright and clean place with plenth of bar staff. If I was going to be picky the only thing that was slightly annoying was that there was a bloody great fun fair set up on the car park outside where I had planned to park and that the website advised there would be plenty of space to park on. Ended up driving round to find another slightly further away but don't really know the area that well so would have been nice to have seen advance notice from the venue telling us we couldn't park outside. Nevertheless a really nice place with very friendly staff. Would definitely come back

User

Well worth it, fantastic night x especially after being in stuck in traffic for three hours x

User

We came to The Corn Exchange to see Jack in the Beanstalk on Friday 22nd December unfortunately our daughter was taken ill and we had to leave just before the start. The staff at The Corn Exchange were brilliant and changed the date of our tickets with no questions asked. We really appreciated it! Thank you so much King's Lynn Corn Exchange for making our five year old happy, we came to see Jack in the Beanstalk yesterday and really enjoyed it! Brilliant show and brilliant staff!

User

We are regular visitors to the Corn Exchange and enjoy their varied programme of events. We also enjoy a. Coffee break there while we are shopping in Lynn. Staff are always polite and cheerful. I use their on line service to order tickets and am never disappointed in the service! Well done!

User

Was at the iconic show last nite and I do like the corn exchange it's so easy to park nice seating so plz keep Steve steinman coming to the corn exchange

User

There is only one downfall, the artists could do more than one night shows lol, some tend to get sold out before you get a chance to book . Brilliant Theater for a small town versatile too, plenty room to stand when there are "Festival style" gigs.

User

Such a great afternoon watching The Immersion Theatre performing one of my favourite stories, Peter Pan! So well organised and such friendly people involved both with the theatre company and Kings Lynn Corn Exchange. James was shy when meeting Peter Pan at the start of the show but couldn’t wait to have a photo taken with him at the end, made even better because Peter Pan remembered his name so James was in awe! Great location and suited to children of all ages, would highly recommend and can’t wait to see one of your other performances!

User

Our second time coming to the corn exchange. Always a lovely atmosphere and must say all the staff are so friendly and helpful ! 5* service

User

Just wanted to say thankyou to the lovely lady member of staff last night who let me follow her back through Kings Lynn to the A17 as I was a bit worried with all the fair and traffic works etc. Thankyou for being so kind. We had a lovely evening with Jason Donovan xx

User

Jack in the Beanstalk was fabulous - absolutely fantastic performance as always. This made our Christmas complete - highly recommended. Dame Trott and Simple Simon were hilarious, such good family fun. Can't wait to return again next year. We had disabled access seating which was very good also, no problems whatsoever.

User

I went 2 see joe mcelderry at the corn exchange on the 25th may, I paid 4 the meet and greet, which was held upstairs. Being a wheelchair user I was unable 2 go upstairs, but thanks 2 the staff, they made arrangements 4 me. 2 2 meet him, which took place in the auditorium. Wat a amazing experience, would definitely do it again if given the chance

User

Easy to get to and a great atmosphere when inside!

User

Came to see Mr Bloom Live yesterday. Got no complaints about anything connected to the Theatre . I've been coming here for years and will continue to as long as you keep booking the big names and great shows!

User

Absolutely fantastic afternoon at this years, Jack and the beanstalk panto! Myself, my mum and my two children, aged 3 and 6 had the most brilliant experience! I really couldn't recommend this any higher! The cast were just fabulous!! Thank you for a wonderful experience! We will be back again without fail next year! Thank you !

User

A lovely atmosphere in this venue, comfortable seating with excellent view of the stage from every row & best of all, amazing staff who are always so friendly & helpful. Everything we've seen has always been first class & last night we watched Peter Pan on Ice, which was spectacular, with faultless ice dancing & acrobatics. We are very lucky to have this great venue in the town.

User

I love visiting the corn exchange, sone amazing shiws ans acts!! My only complaint.. I wish they'd sort the drinks out!!

The wine selection is non existent and over priced and Please Please offer fresh milk with tea!! Come on Corn Exchange it can't be that difficult?!

User

The spice tribute act were good....a few mic or sound issues at various points in the show.

No point trying to get a drink during the interval ....and can I ask what the point pouring bottles into glasses...people ordering 4 wkds poured into glasses - just give them the bottle and you could serve 4 more customers in the time it takes...so no drinks purchased by us - infact after waiting minutes at the bar for 10 minutes we went back into the stage area ... So it lost the company a full round of drinks and as we know they aren't the cheapest drinks in Lynn either!!!

More staff or just leave drinks in the bottle would equal more drinks sold!!!also no one tells you that you can't take a drink into the stage area - which is odd as there were plenty of people drink soft drinks!!!
