About All Hallows Farmhouse Cookery School With Rooms

All Hallows is an historic farmhouse in the Dorset countryside. Home to Lisa Osman's AGA approved cookery school. A unique place to learn, cook, eat & stay

All Hallows Farmhouse Cookery School With Rooms Description

All Hallows, a Georgian home on the outskirts of Wimborne St Giles, is located in an area of outstanding natural beauty on the edge of Cranborne Chase. An historic hunting ground that was popular with King John and Henry VIII. The village itself has long been the home of the Earls of Shaftesbury and is surrounded by a rich landscape and farming community.

The house looks over the water meadows of the River Allen where you will find egrets and herons, and is beside a flourishing cress bed which is fed from the chalk streams. The cookery school is easily reached by car in just under two hours from London and twenty minutes from the main line station in Salisbury. The famous cathedral city and home to Magna Carta. All Hallows Farmhouse is a tranquil spot where teaching is part of everyday life and learning is fun.

Stay awhile, there are comfy rooms and large sofas beside the fireplaces. Wander through the orchard, feed the hens or sit on the grass beside the Mulberry tree and stare through the moon gate. At dusk you may see the barn owls as they swoop down through the paddock and across to the old farmyard beside the house.

Feel immediately at home beside the four-oven AGA in the farmhouse kitchen where you can relax and watch a demonstration or enjoy a day of one to one tuition to learn how to achieve the most from your AGA.

You are invited to walk through the walled garden and into the Potager where you will find Rose Cottage and a second kitchen which is where cheese making and butchery classes take place.

The cookery school was founded by Lisa Osman, arbitrator and 3-star judge for the Great Taste Awards. Lisa launched her own catering company fourteen years ago after spending many years working for private families as a personal chef. She loves to share her experience and encourage everyone that visits All Hallows to develop the necessary skills that can be applied to everyday cooking as well as planning parties and celebrations. At All Hallows, beginners to cookery will discover the confidence to establish their own cookery style and to extend upon their personal repertoire of recipes. Whilst more experienced cooks will enjoy the opportunity to expand upon their existing skills and explore new ingredients and methods.

Lisa offers a programme of full week, weekend, one day cookery classes as well as half day demonstrations. Guest tutors demonstrate specialist subjects which also includes food writing and photography tuition.

So thrilled to find this personal recommendation from Sophie, a recent guest, who has posted on the Facebook https://www.facebook.com/groups/647684429 76/ #ILoveMyAGA group page.
'I’ve just got back from a fab couple of days at All Hallows Farmhouse (AGA approved cookery kitchen/school) where Lisa created a menu of AGA cookery delights for my friend and me (to learn) to cook, including brioche (pictured), crumpets, swiss rolls, cinnamon whirls, focaccia, yoghurt, spanish om...elette, among other things. We’d been before and learned a lot about general cookery, this time we wanted extra tips about baking specifically. The amount of knowledge we gained from Lisa’s experience was huge and has made a massive difference to my confidence in using my AGA. We also stayed overnight as the house has rooms available too and it was just lovely - crisp linens, fresh flowers, local produce and fresh eggs for breakfast! Highly recommended!'

Fantastic review from our latest group booking for the farmhouse. Thank you to Inga and her friends who visited Dorset from London last weekend for a course in Edmonsham. #farmstay #review #farmhouse #accommodation
'Stunning area, beautiful farmhouse and gardens, very comfortable rooms and impeccably clean. But the most outstanding feature for us was the AGA breakfast in the lovely breakfast room. It was out of this planet and beautifully presented!... The owners were very welcoming, helpful and hospitable.
We had dinner at 'The Inn' in Cranborne The Inn at Cranborne which was great. Please note that mobile reception dips in the area so not advisable to rely totally on the Sat Nav. Print out a map!'

We are really excited to share the news that Lisa will be visiting the In Jolly Good Company allotments in June, to chat and cook with the guests and gardeners. Over the coming months we will be offering help and suggestions to family members and carers. Anyone who now finds themselves, possibly for the very first time in the kitchen, cooking for a loved one, or preparing meals for one, is really welcome to get in touch and let us know how we can offer support. For more details or to get involved please contact Sarah at In Jolly Good Company
