Very pleased with Alma's work. She took in a quite tailored vintage dress I'd bought online that was about 2 sizes too big for me and it now fits perfectly and the shape of the dress has been preserved. She is also a very pleasant and friendly person. Would return.

The amount of attention to the customer and to the work that she have immediately upon our entering the store made it obvious that she was Alma. Detailed work, flexibility and great conversations. Brighton is proud to have her. Thanks Alma and see you gain.

I've never been too bothered by wedding dresses. I picked mine several months in advance before the wedding simply because I happened to be at a bridal shop and then I went to pick it up by bus! (the lady at the bridal shop almost fainted)

But closer to the big day it started to dawn on me how impactful this really was and how much I wanted it to look just perfect on me.

Alma took this dress, several sizes bigger then me, and with expertise and exquisiteness converted it into the perfect outfit. It wasn't an easy task, as the full top layered was intricate lace and the skirt had 7 (!!!) layers to shorten and adjust! But Alma didn't flinch at the challenge. Not only the dress was perfect, but her quote was much more affordable than the seamstress recommended by the bridal shop, which is not something to dismiss when you are planning your wedding.

On top of everything, Alma is just the kindest and warmest person you will encounter, so seeing her is just a pleasure. I will recommend her a million times!

I took my wedding dress into Alma to have the length shortened, its a big princess ball gown type of dress with four layers. She did an absolutely incredible job and i highly recommend her! It was an absolutely pleasure to meet Alma and i will definitely be going back to her in the future for any alterations!

I have had several pieces of clothing altered here from more simple shortening of trousers to more complicated widening of waists on dresses and skirts!! I have been really pleased with the results and quick and efficient service. Thank you

I had a great experience at Almas. I took a dress which was complicated and I didn't know it would even be possible to alter. Alma was so friendly and fitted me there and then. Just picked up my dress and it's perfect! I'm 2 different sizes on top and bottom and I never have dresses that fit me perfectly. Very reasonable prices and a lovely atmosphere. Will definitely be going back!

First time of using Almas - definitely won't be the last! A job well done - really impressed with the service and Alma is a pleasure to deal with!

Don't be put off by Almas tiny shop, it really is tiny like her �. But, her work ethic is fierce!

She painstakingly altered my wedding dress which off the rack, really didn't fit me. What a difference her beautiful work made. Alma made me feel at ease and confident on a day that I was terrified of all eyes being on me and the dress. Thank you again xxx

Amazing service! I needed a dress to be taken up by quite a fair amount, and after messaging Alma's the night before an event, they told me to come in the next day and finished it in no time for me on super short notice. The length and quality is perfect and I couldn't have asked for better at such a good price. Recommend to anybody needing alterations! :D

Almas alterations recently transformed the fur collar on a coat for me, it looks great. The shops communication system is brilliant. I cant recommend them enough. Thanks

Alma's little shop is the place to go for expert alterations. The work is fantastic and reasonably priced and Alma herself is an absolute delight. As I've lost weight many of my clothes were too big but thanks to Alma and her team they fit perfectly and at an absolute fraction of buying new clothes.

Alma transformed my dress! I had bought a Phase Eight ivory tea length wedding dress from a high street shop, but with a growing baby bump, it didn't fit quite right. In just two weeks (because I found the dress so late), Alma altered my dress to a flawless fit around my growing belly. It looked beautiful and fit perfectly, which meant it was comfortable to wear all day on my wedding day! All of her other minor tweaks to the straps and neckline turned it into the dress I had been dreaming about for my small and intimate Town Hall wedding. THANK YOU so much.

Alma managed to bring my wedding skirt back from the dead - blown away by her skill, knowledge and patience. It's a gorgeous shop and Alma is totally gorgeous to speak to as well, amazing service. Thank you Alma.

Alma is an absolute delight and she has a gift with a thread and needle! She worked on my wedding dress, made several alterations - some of which were quite complex and not only did she do them perfectly but she made me feel completely relaxed. I always felt she had my best interest in heart and the final output would be always be brilliant. I'm so grateful to Alma for all she's done and I'll continue to be her customer for years to come for any future alterations I need. Thanks Alma!!! X

Alma altered a number items for my wedding party as well as my wedding dress. I honestly couldn’t recommend Alma and her team highly enough!. You literally couldn’t tell any work had been done to any of the items, it just looked as though that how they should have been!. My wedding dress was super detailed and that didn’t phase Alma at all when needing to take it in and alter cups and strap size etc... she is a true artist and she made my dress make me feel like a million dollars. Thankyou so very much.

I had a very mixed experience at Alma's with my wedding dress.



I initially communicated with Alma via email, sent her photos of my wedding dress and asked if she would be able to do the work it needed, I was told yes and given an appointment to go in and see her.



When I went in I didn't see Alma (though I wasn't aware of this at the time) but another woman who worked in the shop. This woman fitted the dress on me, decided on the alterations that needed to be done and pinned the dress.



When my dress was ready to be collected I went and tried it on and it looked awful. Again I met with the woman who had fitted me the first time (not Alma) and was told that Alma had done the work. So the work had been done on my wedding dress without Alma seeing me in it, and it was not good. The woman in the shop was very defensive, refused to acknowledge that there was anything wrong with the work and began to pin it in random places again for Alma to alter again without seeing it. I was also told that this was 'the best it would be'.



I refused to allow this to happen, and had to wait two days before I could meet with Alma. At this point there was a week until my wedding. I was very distressed and began looking at last minute options for a new wedding dress, as mine was unwearable in the state that it was in.



On the Friday I met with Alma, who was brilliant. She immediately looked at the dress, acknowledged that it was wrong and knew how to fix it. She worked on my dress all day and had it ready for me by Friday afternoon. Alma was very friendly and professional and I could not fault the work that she did once she had actually seen the dress on me.



I was charged extra for the work as I had only been quoted for work on the front, though at the time I was unaware of this. I do feel like I should not have had to pay extra, but as it was my wedding dress and I needed it to be finished I didn't really feel like I had much choice.



The whole experience would probably have been 5 stars if I had met Alma straight away and she had fitted me and done the work. Alma is a very competent and lovely woman. Unfortunately the poor attitude of the other woman that I met and bad communication made the experience quite upsetting.
