Almost Random Theatre (ART) is a unique theatre company in that: a. All profits go to the Multiple Sclerosis Societyb. We visit schools abroad (Poland, Czech republic) for free - and we even pay our own fares! c. We run workshops at UK schools and charge 20p a mile petrol - and that's alld. We have put on plays and the audience come in for free (no collection afterwards either)e. We actively promote other theatres - no reciprocation requiredf. We have helped crowdfund over fifteen other projects from other companiesg. We deliberately focus on the over 50s if possible in terms of writers /actorsh. our national playwriting competition had first prize worth over £500i. We receive NO government funding NO grants whatsoeverIt is doubtful whether any other theatre company does all of the above, some, yes, but not all. We exist to collaborate, not compete. Activities include: a. 40 plays put on in 2 yearsb. 15 schools visitedc. Plays put on in five countriesd. Two fringes (Oxford, Bournemouth)e. Two national playwriting competitionsf. Five books are in production and should be released August 2014
