Mini tots have had a busy week this week. They explored their courtyard and used the recycled items they have received from the local community to support the opportunities for outdoor learning. We've had afternoon tea, repaired our cars in the garage, walked with the dinosaurs in our large tray and today we are on the hunt for mini-beasts using our magnifiers and tweezers in amongst the soil, bark and under the logs.

Hi, I'd like to introduce myself my name is Amy and I have had the pleasure of joining the team this week as Deputy Manager. I live in West Bridgford and have been supporting under fives for over twenty years and love that no two days are ever the same. I have heard many wonderful things about the nursery and have been made to very feel welcome by everyone, big and little. I am excited to be experiencing many opportunities with the children, supporting the team and look forward to meeting all the families over the coming weeks and months.

The children and staff love the Mama Baby Bliss classes at nursery. Fantastic for flexibility, relaxation and a little bit of calm within the nursery day.

Happy Chinese New Year. The children have all been busy taking part in lots of different activities to celebrate and understand more about Chinese New Year. The Under 2's have been busy doing yellow, red and gold sticking. The Toddlers had a sensory Chinese food tuff spot, where they enjoyed exploring the different textures as well as filling and emptying the containers. They also made Chinese fans. Preschool read a short story about the animals in the Chinese calendar and ma...de the drums after watching a short video of how the Chinese scared off the monster with the drums. After a busy day everyone enjoyed some Chinese food that Tracy had cooked for tea.

This week is National story telling week, the children have all been very busy looking at books and taking part in activities related to favourite stories. The Under 2's have been reading stories and looking at favourite books, Toddlers have looked at a different story each day and engaged in activities to do with the book for that day. Pre school have been looking at their favourite stories and chose Zog to draw pictures from and created his castle to explore.

We would like to remind you about our take home activity bags that we have at nursery. We have a variety of bags and they are a great way to extend your child's learning at home. Speak to the staff in your child's room if you would like to take one home.

This week we have been celebrating Burns Night at the nursery. All the children have been very busy making scottish flags, sticking on kilts, baking shortbread and the school club made some pretty thistles and decorated some kilts for their display. Have a great weekend.

The children have been exploring different textures this morning- Toddlers have made their own play dough and have shaped the dough into lots of different objects. Preschool went onto the balcony and found the water in the tuff spot had turned into ice and used the rolling pins to break it. The children talked about how the textures felt in their hands- cold, hard, soft and squidgy.

The Pre-school children have been very busy making bread rolls today, they all enjoyed spreading the butter on them and eating them with their tea. Have a lovely weekend everyone.

Today the Under 2's have been busy exploring objects following the curiosity approach. This is where the children can explore lots of natural materials of different shapes and sizes. As they play with the objects can become anything they want them to be as their curiosity develops through play. Have a lovely weekend everyone
