Geneva Motor Show
Talking of ALPINA exclusivity, I saw the B4S Coupe EDITION 99 for the first time in Geneva this week, looking great in the 'Heritage' colour scheme. 452BHP and Akrapovic Titanium exhaust system. Fabulous!

A Future Classic! This ALPINA B3S Saloon finished in 'Individual' Lamborghini Blue Hera, with Black Merino leather is a 'one off' and won't now be repeated. It was delivered to its delighted new owner in March. A beautiful example of ALPINA's exclusivity.

Farewell Friend
Sytner Nottingham ALPINA and BMW Technician, Mark Adkin took well earned retirement this week after an illustrious career spanning more than 35 years. Many of you will know Mark, but he's most famous for hand building ALPINA cars at Sytner Nottingham in the late eighties. Join me in wishing Mark a long and happy retirement. 👏

Testament to BMW ALPINA's engineering is this March 2014 example of the D3 Touring which has covered 210,000 miles and incredibly didn't need its first set of front discs and pads until 100,000 miles. The car, operated by Sytner's Used Car Director, has clearly earned its keep and has been driven enthusiastically, but judging by the brake wear sympathetically, all over Europe for business and pleasure. Its been maintained throughout its life by Sytner Nottingham, the home of ALPINA . The ALPINA B5 has recently had its first birthday and is growing in reputation. Jeremy Clarkson has tested 28 cars for the Sunday Times in 2018 and in the 27th December edition he announced his 'Five Mightiest Motors Of The Year. Excellent cars excellent people

Big thank you to Gary and Johnathan today at Sytner Alpina Nottingham. Really great experience. They kindly dropped an Alpina B4 Bi turbo down to my work on Friday for me to demo over the weekend. ( I am 92 miles from them. ) They obviously have complete faith in this niche brand as I currently have am M4 convertible which I am not happy with, as it rattles like a Renault megane. So am looking to change for a 4 series hard top. M4 or x drive 435 m sport. Coupe. Alpina D4 bi turbo.

After trying demo car for the weekend (rattle free) I returned the car to Sytner on Monday where they had arranged ( unbeknown to me ) another test drive for me in the 435d so I could evaluate back to back.

Alpina blows the other cars into the weeds by little but significant improvements here and there which all add up to a far superior car .

1 the suspension is plush even running 20inch wheels. So much better quality than m sport crash you suspension.

2 the engine is so much smoother and quicker than 35d BMW

The 35d engine is recognised as one of the best diesels until you try the Alpina so much quieter, so much smoother, revs more freely with garret turbos and Akropovic full exhaust system,

3 the auto box changes so much quicker up and down the box never holding on to gears to long. You are always in the right gear with the Alpina

4 you can make your car with a unique spec for very little extra money,

Gary and Johnathan very professional, pleasant knowledgable guys. As they say consultants not sales. Very nice buying experience,

Try an Alpina , if you like engineering excellence these cars are it.
