Altered Images - Photo Restoration, Retouching & Enhancement Service

I get requests for retouching that are not big jobs and sometimes you wonder why bother. This is a typical photograph in this case. All I was asked to do was remove the Groom's shirt that is sticking out between his trousers and his waistcoat and smooth down the hair on the top of his head. Now be honest, how many of you saw those two imperfections before I mentioned them. Not many, but those little details spoil the picture for the Bride. She wanted her husband to be perfect for their first dance.

I seem to be getting quite a few wedding pictures that need retouching and a number of light faded ones as well. The photograph fits the bill on both.
This wedding photo has suffered twice to the ravages of the sun. First in an oval mount ( you can just see the outline of the oval mount) and then in a rectangular frame. Which made it a little difficult to match up. But I believe I got there in the end. Always try to place your photographs out of direct sun light to stop the colours fading.

Another black and white photo to colour from the same client. This time it's the family on holiday, possibly Blackpool or Scarborough and not a pair of jeans or trainers in sight.

The trend at the moment is to have your old black and white or even sepia photographs colourised.
As you know I love old photographs and this one in particular. I love it because someone had taken the time to take a photograph of this farmer having a quick break. The original was a little over 2"x1" when it arrived from my client. My client wanted it enlarging to 6"x4" and also colouring.

Can anything be done to improve the appearance of this photograph was the request.
After a little retouching, colour correction the image was ready for framing.

I don't know why I ever edited this photograph. At first I thought it was in a picture frame and was stuck to the glass. But it wasn't until I received the photo, that I realised it was on a phone and it was the screen that was broken.

Stuck for something different to get a relative for their birthday. How about a unique photo edit. I did this a couple of weeks back for a horse mad little girl who was also a Tottenham Hotspurs fan.

I can safely shows these now Christmas as gone for another year. Just before Christmas a charming lady arrived at my home with these two photos of a young lad on a trials bike and asked me to repair them as a surprise Christmas present for her partner.

The number of times I get asked if I can put a plain background on a Childs photo is unbelievable. Some like this look great as they are laid on their backs. But on some they look really weird because of the angle it's been taken at. But the customer is always right, sometimes.

It's a sad day when you loose your new addition to your family, within days, weeks of their birth. It must also be painful when the only memory of them is a photograph of them in hospital with tube everywhere. So I feel I have to remove those tubes and wires, to give mum and dad a beautiful photograph the can cherish.

The number of times I have been asked if I can unblur a blurred photograph and the times I have said Sorry, you can't unblur an blurred photograph. Then I get this drop into my inbox and a message that says I've seen someone unblur a photograph can you do one for me. No was the reply. then they sent me the one they had seen. I thought it was a hoax at first. But apparently the clever Chinese have created a piece of A.I. software that can unblur faces on a photograph. So now I am the proud owner of some new software. The results are quite impressive. What do you think? let me know.

Again someone who wants an old photograph of their Grandparents restoring so it can be given as a present. Photographs are cherished memories and when they are gone they can't be replaced. But they can be restored before its too late. We all have them tucked away in a shoe box somewhere in the house. Why not get them out and reminisce and if needs be get them repaired before they are gone for ever.

This lovely old photograph of a young girl in her St John's nurses uniform needed a little TLC before it could be given to her on her 80th birthday. What a lovely present, to give a cherished photograph to someone you love.

A young bride contacted me a while ago asking if I could merge two photographs of her wedding. Apparently she had asked the photographer for a photo of her and her brides maids. Somehow it never happened, hence the request. So if you had a similar thing happen, either at a wedding, christening or graduation. Please get in touch.

I love old photographs and I love restoring them. Thats why I do this job. So the other day I was asked can anything be done to this photograph. The lady said it was her late grandfather on his wedding day with his best man. Or should have been, but for some reason the best man had been removed with a pair of scissors. I wonder why? So I repaired it, new curtain backdrop and a new table to sit on. Hopefully matching the original minus the best man. I was then asked if I could add some colour as well. So below you will find, the original, a sepia repair and a coloured version. Which is your favourite.

This photograph came to me via Facebook. the owner had posted it asking if anyone could remove the dots and then colourise it. Several people told him it was impossible.
I fancied the challenge and here is the end result. I'm happy with the end product and I learned some new techniques along the way. I will leave it a couple of months then may go back to it and do some adjustments. I would love your opinion on the edit.
