Unmade in England emerged from a recent process based project which involved tracking and recording an outfit from a charity shop, through it’s deconstruction or demolition to its reconstruction or rebirth into either balls of yarn or quilted fabric pieces, which were not just the outcome but the commencement of the next phase.

There is an abundance of secrets to be discovered within the garments; shapes, colour palettes, variety of stitching, smells, memories, technical information, country of origin, and even washing instructions.

I now create work from deconstructed pre-used clothing and household textiles which may have been made anywhere in the world but are unmade in England.
