Two things on my mind this morning...firstly can I thank all the lovely loyal regulars and not do regular customers who came in yesterday despite the new coffee shop giving freebies all day..thank CV you it's much appreciated. Secondly we received a phone call from the mum of a young lady called Imogen (I think) who had a cake stall last week in the market cross. We want to get in touch but the number given in the message was undecipherable ..can anyone say who it was or pass on a message please xxxx. Thank you and happy Friday..remember our garden on this lovely day.

Just had my copy of Fred Finch's shaky life cookbook delivered by the man himself. Straightforward recipes of well loved meals.. contact Fred on FB and order your copy ..it's well worth it xxx

It's a beautiful day here in the bury....time to come out and eat in the bistro garden don't you think..... Time also to reflect to the end of an era....six years ago a bubbly lively and very grown up not quite 15year old young lady bounced into the bistro and with full parental permission demanded a job..and here we are wishing Lucy all the luck in the world for her second great adventure this year and for an extraordinary time in the USA and then at uni in Liverpool. Gonna miss you like crazy baby girl but .. wow ..enjoy xxxx

User

Today we say sayonara to Jake for the summer as he returns to Dyson..except for womad (we hope)...thanks for everything hun as ever ..you are and have been a star !!!!

User

Well it's been an awesome and very busy weekend so far.....how about popping in to see us tomorrow on bank holiday Monday...open from 9 .am with all the usual goodies and if the weather continues lovely there is the garden xx

User

Well what a gorgeous Sunday..why not pop in and have an equally gorgeous breakfast brunch lunch or afternoon tea in our sheltered garden ...look forward to seeing you xxx

User

While we won't have any holiday jobs this year for the summer as such we are looking for at least one person for Sunday downstairs who is confident with people and polite and hardworking... Can anyone interested please contact me or pop in to the bistro with a CV. Thanks !!!

User

Well thank you so much to the driver of a large brewery lorry who was travelling too fast down Oxford Street this morning didn't slow down for a parked van went on the pavement and destroyed our for sale sign!!!! Must have known he hit it...it made a hell of a noise but didn't stop to apologise. Just left us with the expense of getting it refitted. Annoyed much !!!!

User

FINALLY..a lovely lovely day and loads of people lunching in the garden!!! I always think we are on our way to summer when the garden comes back to life ..it is a wonderful hideaway for lunch afternoon tea of even breakfast ..although it might have been a bit parky for that earlier !! Not ignoring the elephant in the room of the large FOR SALE sign on the bistro , PG and I fully expect to be here for quite a while until we hopefully find a buyer with a love of Malmesbury s...uch as we have....we hold a niche in the town and would love that to continue...its sad to see Capers closed but we admire Debbie at the Summer Cafe for her decision in expanding..I personally do not feel that a chain style cafe like the one coming to the town in the old Bank building is right for our fairly small High Street but we will see. Hopefully customers will remain loyal to their favourites and all of us will continue to survive. Can I remind some commenters on another page ..we have been Dog Friendly for over 10 years now and welcome families and their pooches every day !!!

Come and have a tasty Easter Sunday roast with us ...all freshly made and home cooked. Remember we are open ALL weekend and every day during the Easter school holidays x

User

Well the sign is here and its HUGE !!!! I will get Lucy to post a pic up here later ...we are taking bets how long it will be before a lorry or similar hits it !!! Just to reiterate -we are still here still cooking and will continue to do so until the right buyer comes along x

User

A huge thank you goes out to Jake Jones who has been home this past week and has gardened decorated worked generally and been an all round good guy and made us all laugh too ..if anyone who wants Easter shifts hasnt spoken to me yet ..I am sitting down and sorting the holidays probably tomorrow..gonna try and be fair to everyone so bear with me !!! As a rerun of my post last week ...the 'for sale' sign goes up tomorrow Tuesday (at least it better had !!!!) after being let down last Friday...we arent going anywhere just yet obviously but have been really touched and grateful for all the kind and positive comments we have received..we will keep you all posted on progress as and when something confirmed occurs. Needless to say we have made a huge number of friends over the years and it wil be a real wrench xx

User

Sign company not now fitting until Tuesday darn it !! Just so you know Ive not gone round the bend lol !!

User

Changes are afoot...As many of you know the bistro has been for sale for some months and we had a firm offer fall through over Christmas (darn it !!!) You will see from this weekend a 'for sale' sign outside the premises. Whilst we are hoping to sell before I personally get too old to retire we must stress that we are still here and raring to go with all our usual breakfasts lunches and specials for as long as it takes to (hopefully) sell to someone who will uphold the traditions we have started here ...looking forward to seeing you all and as ever thanks for all the support over the years xxxx

User

Another snow day .....its supposed to be nearly Spring ffs !!!! Closed a tad early again today but were really busy all morning and lunch time. Open tomorrow between 8.30/9/00 a.,m. and a usual Saturday weather perm itting of course......pop in and see us ...full menu and warming soups and drinks etc. etc. Snow proof soggy doggy floor also.....btw lovely to see many many regulars today including the Dodds and Barney...Mike Janine and Kai, Craig Gill and the dogs and the entire Blake clan including Rodders lol xxx

User

Closed a little early today as a result of the oncoming snow ..PG needed to be home for his lovely mum. We ..me Lucy and Dom at least will be in and fired up to go from 9.00 a,m. tomorrow with hot food and drinks and soups and all the usual works for cold hungry peeps. I expect to see PG too whatever the weather ...if really bad he has threatened to 'yomp' in !!! Take catre everyonre and dont take risks xxxx

User

A sad event I am afraid...many of the staff from a while ago will remember with affection Fran who was Sue Jones' close friend and who came and helped out with dishes and furniture painting and other odds and ends for a while when Sue was still with us. She also attended some of our staff parties in particular the Christmas at Easter one which I remember as amazing !! Sadly following what was actually a succesful operation for a long term medical condition she developed complications and passed away without regaining consciousness. Our thoughts are with her husband and family and with all her friends especially those in and around Great Somerford...she will be much missed xxx

User

Sigh......I am beginning to seriously dislike 2018.....after our disasters of two weeks ago.......our flipping phone is now out of order !!!! PG spoke to them today (endlessly) and the upshot is that we could be off for several days...telling them it was a business line etc etc. cut no mustard......so..if you want to contact us (staff) or customers please use this but bear in mind I only get on here evenings and early mornings... I cannot give pgs mobile number on here wouldnt be fair but if you have that use it !!!! Otherwise take a chance ..pop in etc etc. We would love to see anyone and everyone and next week we will be open Tuesday for an extra day as we have to be there for other reasons...things can we hope only imporve !!!!

User

. lovely people ..fingers crossed and we will be open again on Friday morning at 9.00 a.m. and raring to go ...mahooosive thanks to Andy Pottinger who sorted everything out for us....if all is still ok in the morning and the gremlins havent got us we will be back ..sorry for any inconvenience to any one etc etc ..xx

User

Went for a light lunch panini. Unlike the chain coffee shops this was large, tasty, filling and with ample side salad. The bit of effort from non chain establishments makes all the difference

User

We travelled from Chippenham for one of the renowned breakfasts which definitely lived up to its reputation... Well worth the travel! Amazing food, amazing service! great bunch of guys. hats off to the chef will most certainly be back soon!

User

The staff were very helpful and friendly. The bubble and squeak was amazing - well cooked and presented. I was surprised they had a dog menu, which means they are more than happy to cater for dogs. However the shop is too small for anyone with a pushchair or to use high chairs, but they do have a secure area to the side of the shop where you can leave the pram and come in doors. I would highly recommend coming here for food - especially breakfast.

User

The BEST place ... for tea, scones, Sunday lunch ... and of course, for a bit of a laugh!

User

Just had an amazing roast beef dinner and lemon meringue pie. Phil and Helen are a credit to this business always friendly and happy to help. The young staff are great too . I would recommend a visit .

User

I have been going here for some time now and would say that Phillip and Helen, and their lovely girls, of course, are the most welcoming people in the whole of Malmesbury, apart from those at Hope Church, of course!! The food is always prepared and cooked to perfection and as for Sunday lunch!!! Well, you have tp go there to find out for yourself. Five stars all round from me

User

Great roast. Friendly staff & good service!

User

Go every time I visit my Mums grave in Lea ( live in Burford) fantastic atmosphere great bubble & squeak (my Wife’s fav) & a lovely owner/ host & staff. The biggest thing for me is being able to take my Black Lab in. If only more cafes & coffee houses could be this way we wouldn’t have to sit outside in the rain & the cold lol. If near go in for sure & even a fuss pot like me has been won over. Will visit many times to come. Rob

User

Fantastic, proper home cooked food. We’ve going for years and never been let down once. Lovely garden to sit in out the back when warm enough.

User

Fantastic place

come here often on way to auction

really good breakfast, piping hot always and great value

highly recommended to all my friends

very polite staff

User

Fantastic food, great welcome and so lovely to be able to take the dog too. Can't fault it. Sherston breakfast to nut roast and gorgeous fresh fish. Its a must if you are visiting Malmesbury

User

Enjoyed a delicious lunch here today, fantastic bubble and squeak with eggs and bacon, extremely tasty broccoli and Stilton bake (very generous portion!) and yummy spag Bol. The wine and beer helped it down nicely . Phil and Helen fab hosts as always.

User

An early arrival meant we needed to grab a breakfast. These guys were great opened up 15 mins earlier for us even tho it was just to give us a seat and chill. Had their breakfast . They served it and wow. It was absolutely fantastic.

Staff couldn't be anymore friendlier or polite .

Well worth the tip I left and some. It's a must go ......

User

Always a warm welcome, with or without the dogs. Food has always been fulfilling and tasty whether we've chosen breakfast or lunch. Coffee and cake is also a good choice. Just one of our favourites.

User

Always a delight, great wholesome food, huge variety, dog friendly and a warm welcome, what more could you ask for?! Thoroughly recommend.

User

Visited here this morning with my family and amazed how big the portions were but enjoyed and would visit again.

User

Every time we go there,we are always made very welcome, being disabled it is walking distance from the bus stop, and the food, i cannot fault it, it is always mouthwatering and freshly cooked, fish and chips are a must, the staff always make us feel comfortable, a must to any one visiting malmesbury. We come from swindon, specially to eat there

User

Beautiful garden, fantastic brunch in the sunshine amid the flowers. Great quality food - big fat sausages, tasty bacon, dark-yolked eggs and really delicious chunky bubble and squeak. Yum! Friendly and efficient staff. Would have ideally liked a big mug of coffee rather than a smallish cup, but that's only because the coffee was so good! Well worth a visit :)

User

A lovely little find. Lovely food and fabulous staff.
