Amano Designs is a UK business committed to sourcing distinctive, high quality jewellery designs, and providing a flawless service to our customers. The company was set up after we left our London media and management jobs and took our kids to live in Mexico, where we followed a long-held dream of setting up our company selling gorgeous silver jewellery. All our products are made by artisan silversmiths in tiny workshops in the villages around Taxco, an old colonial town riven with steep narrow streets and nestled in the hills south of Mexico City. Some of our ranges such as Lola and Nuala are commissioned by Amano and made especially for us by a silversmith with more than 30 years experience working with high quality silver. Besides supporting small-scale silversmiths, a slice of our profits goes towards a sponsorship programme for Mexican children at Costa Verde International School in Sayulita, Nayarit state. Mexico has a centuries-old tradition of fine silver craftsmanship and you'll find much of the silver sold in the UK comes from Mexico, even if it is branded as British designed. It's a paradise for jewellery lovers such as ourselves and we spend time with the local silversmiths, ensuring that the materials and workmanship are of the highest quality. All our products are made from sterling silver and hallmarked . 925. We've included the weight of each item in the product description to give our customers a good idea of the feel of each product and to make buying online easier. All our jewellery is presented in one of our signature black gift boxes and distributed from the UK, where we offer free delivery and returns. Handily, Amano also means love in Italian, which sums up what we feel about our business.
