Dear Westmorland Friends
Further to our announcement on the 23rd of March 2020, we regret to inform you that the hotel and Spa will remain closed until the 10th of May 2020. Our team will be contacting all guests who have a reservation up to the 10th of May.
... Looking ahead we have implemented a rolling review on future bookings from the 10th of May onwards and will keep you all updated. We are doing everything we can to make sure we can reopen as soon as possible once this is all over.
In the meantime thank you for all your support and understanding at this difficult time.

Our Easter Bunny won't be able to deliver our eggs at the hotel this year as we are closed. However we have arranged to have them delivered to some housing care locally in Ambleside so some of the older members of our community can enjoy them in time for Easter. Many thanks to George & Jill two local 'good eggs' for their help with this- take care everyone.

Dear Friends
Due to the government’s announcement on the 20th March and the speed of the COVID-19 virus escalating we have taken the difficult decision to close the hotel on Sunday the 22rd March 2020.
This decision has been driven by our social responsibility to protect our team, our guests and the Lake District from what is an ongoing challenging situation Our Reception team have contacted all imminent bookings that are due to arrive at the hotel. Our team will be contacti...ng all guests who have a reservation up to the end of April but as you can imagine this may take a little time.
We are deeply saddened how quickly things have moved and that has led us to make this decision and we are doing everything we can to make sure we can re-open as soon as possible once this is all over. Obviously we do not know exactly when this will be and will update you as soon as we can. Looking ahead we have implemented a rolling weekly review on other future bookings from May onwards.
Please follow our social media channels to keep updated, we will continue to take bookings by phone for later on in the year. Should you have any urgent queries please contact us by email on ambleside@hotelslakedistrict.com and our team will respond to you as soon as possible.
We hope to keep busy in the hotel with a spot refurbishment It’s going to be a challenging time for us all. However we are a tight knit team here at the ‘Sally’ and with patience, friendship and compassion and generally looking after each other we will come through the other side of this to welcome new and returning guests back to the hotel.
Ambleside and the Lake District always has and always will be a unique place to visit and will continue to hold a special place in all our hearts. With this in mind we thank you for your support over the past 33 years and send our very best wishes to you all.

During this uncertain time we are going through we just want to let you know that we are all here and open for business as usual until we are told otherwise.
We would like to thank you for your support during these changing times and would like to reassure you that as a service provider in business for 30 years plus we already follow a strict hygiene programme. This has been further enhanced across all departments because of the current situation. The safety and... wellbeing of our staff and guests is our absolute priority.
We would love to see you soon, but understand that at this time you may not be able to travel or make future bookings, we will of course happily hold bookings for a future date and there will be no handling fee.
