Michelle Williams has over 35 years in health care, initially as a staff nurse and sister in a large teaching hospital on Merseyside, before moving into care home management in Oxfordshire in 1995. She managed several highly successful care homes and later moved into regional management with a territory stretching from Nottinghamshire to the south coast. Amito Audits started operations in March 2015 with the aim of advising and helping care home managers and staff on the best methods of meeting the exacting standards demanded by the Care Quality Commission (CQC). New regulations and amendments to existing regulations are issued frequently CQC and the task of implementing these regulations can be difficult even for large care home groups, let along small companies with just two or three homes, and for stand-alone homes. Amito Audits operates by performing a detailed audit of all aspects of a care home: management, staffing, cleanliness, emergency procedures etc. A detailed report is then written and presented to the management with an action plan advising the company on the best and most efficient way to bring its services up to scratch, a sort of "pre MOT" inspection before CQC arrives (planned or unplanned). Amito Audits is selling not just an inspection service but also an "involvement" with the company; it can offer regular checks to make sure standards are being met, and is always available for email and telephone advice.
