The History: AMSPORT was the developed by German medical doctor and Atlanta '96 Olympic bronze medalist Mark Warnecke. In 2005, Mark made history at the age of 35 when he came out of retirement and became the oldest world champion in swimming over 50m breaststroke, against a field of competitors at least a decade his junior. Realising the enormous potential of amino acids for athletic performance and using his medical expertise, Mark had formulated his own supplements to support him in his astonishing comeback, which also earned him the German Sports Personality of the Year Award. The immense interest from other athletes for Mark's products following his surprise victory eventually led to the foundation of our AMSPORT® brand.
