Alright guys and gals, here’s my schedule for the remainder of the month and the beginning of September. 🍄🍁🍂
Apologies for the radio silence, turns out that burnout is a thing and I well and truly did that - big time. I have spent so much time pouring every ounce of myself into my work for the past year or so that I completely neglected to make time for myself and really keep up to my self care, and so it all pretty much collapsed on top of me mentally and physically without ...much warning. I worked myself poorly. My stress head decided enough was enough and forced me, through manifestations of debilitating physical ailments, to take a freaking break. So I did. They say your mind is only trying to protect you. 🤷🏻‍♀️ It’s a long road to complete recovery but I am feeling better each day, this is a wake up call that I need to make some changes but I’m not sure what those changes are just yet.
So with all that being said, I’m back in the studio next week on an appointment only basis - this includes check ups and Jewellery changes. 📝🕖
The following week, I’m away on Bridesmaid duties in the Lake District! 👰🏻💍🌳
Following that, I’m appointment only for a few days before packing up again to stay in Manchester for a few days, to attend the annual U.K. Association of Professional Piercers Conference for a second year! I’ll be sitting a bunch of classes (think of it like a teacher training thing), hanging out with your other favourite Piercers, and very possibly bringing some beautiful new jewellery back for you! 📚🛍
As you can imagine, I have a heap of messages to get through, so I will be working my way through those over the next few days. Thank you for your patience with me; I didn’t want this either, but I have to start listening to my body more often; it’s just another learning curve that’s come with learning how to run a business effectively. I focused so much on this that I forgot about me. I will learn to do both!

These stories stem from piercing guns, friends who think they’ve got “legit needles and jewellery” or done it themselves, unsupervised inexperienced Piercers doing things on the cheap, and negligent aftercare. Allllllll these things I implore everyone to avoid at all costs. Always see a professional, research all that you can about that professional, and pleeeaassee take care of it when they’ve done it for you. 😰 Piercings take longer than tattoos to fully heal, and require a bit more commitment to help them heal successfully, but when they do you can enjoy them for years and years! It doesn’t have to be a horror story. It can and should be a life enhancing, positive experience. 😊

...And there goes the last Solid 14ct White Gold Bee from @leroifinejewelry! (For now anyway, more are coming!) @chloweeny reserved this with a deposit a while ago to make sure it wouldn’t fly away before she could get here, and yesterday was the day I got to finally pierce her with it! We’re calling it a #LowHelixPiercing. Not an uncommon term, but we had fun playing with the names. 😋 Lobelix? Lox? Helobe? Who knows, it’s pretty.
Chloe asked me if we could place this gorgeo...us little buzzy in this natural little curve just above her lobe so it would sit in that seat just nicely, and so it does! Chloe has also previously had quite a bit of trouble healing her #LobePiercings, and so after a few messages back and forth and a little bit of waiting time with some TLC, I repierced then for her with That's the Point - UK needles and internally threaded implant grade Titanium labrets (same as the Bee is screwed into aswell), she asked if I could anodise them for her to that beautiful, ever popular shade of #Blurple - yes of course, your wish is my command! Notice: So, I’ve had an email through from LeRoi Fine Jewellery informing me that they are currently working at around 15 weeks turnaround time 😱 but they’re powering through to get all jewellery orders out as quickly as possible. You guys know by now that good things take time with the Jewellery I swear by, and this is why turnaround times are so long at the moment. Not that I’ve been having any complaints about it (which I massively appreciate by the way!), I just wanted to... let you all know cause I know I appreciate my suppliers letting me know.
Plus it’s the height of Summer, which is one of the busiest times of year for us Piercers and our hard working jewellers!
There are only a small handful of companies that make Body Jewellery to the standard that you have all come to know me for - and they are all systems go to try and meet the monumental growing demand for it as more and more Piercers and Piercees alike discover how fantastic it is to work with and to wear!
This basically means that if you have placed an order with me for a LeRoi piece, I am at the mercy of their turnaround times, I believe Industrial Strength aren’t taking quite that long at the moment but I do always post updates and message those who have placed deposits for orders as soon as I know anything about anything.

Case in point: if it looks LIKE something branded, but it’s not the same brand or isn’t branded, it’s not the same. Always beware of imitations! This is one of those rare instances where you actually should buy into the name. The name is everything. The name is researchable, the name is representative of what it actually is and how it’s made. A piercing is a minor invasive procedure at the end of the day, it’s important to know what it’s plugged up with.
Some great examples of music to your ears: Industrial Strength (of course), Anatometal, LeRoi, BVLA, Neometal, Infinite, Gorilla Glass, Glasswear Studios, Interstellar, and there are many more but those are just some of the most widely used across the U.K and U.S. 😊

Update: I’m alive! Just about. 😅 It’s been five steps forward three steps back this week while I’ve been trying to make as speedy of a recovery as possible...and misjudging how far along I am in being fully better. Soon as I start to feel like I’m about right, I start doing stuff and planning stuff, then I’m knocked on my back again cause I’ve spoken and acted too soon.

Here we go, some much cooler lighting 😅 might as well spam a bunch of photos I’ve been behind on while I’m dying a death poorly at home haha. So have a look at this beauty!
Deborah already had her nose pierced elsewhere and came in looking specifically for one of my Industrial Strength UK Pawprints. She’d warned me that it usually takes her a good 40 minutes or so just to get one of those wirey nose pin thingies in it. I thought, ah, that’s alright I’ll manage. Skip to about... 10 / 15 minutes later... I was not managing. 🙈 Clearly the angle was not ideal. So, instead, we decided to repierce right next to the existing fistula. Into the steriliser it all went - ready to go in about 5 minutes. Sorted, all better! 💪🏻

Heads up! I’m poorly, have been since Friday night and I’m pretty much on my back under a mound of tissues and vitamin C tablets now. I suspect Tonsillitis, I’ve had this before and it seems familiar, but I’m off to the doctors tomorrow to confirm and hopefully get some medication. Thanks for being patient with me on Saturday while I donned my pretty pink face masks as a precaution. 😅 All going well, I intend to cart myself in on Tuesday on an appointment only basis to honour... those who have already booked with me, but I do also have Wednesday off anyway so I won’t be in then; not that I think I’ll be going anywhere anymore that day anyway. 😑

I came yesterday for some jewellery changing and walked out with a new septum! Amy talked to me on Facebook become I came and listened to everything I wanted and all my questions, which continued well in to my actual appointment. Everything is perfect, the new jewellery fits soo well. Only problem I've had is I keep forgetting I've had the septum done as it's so comfortable and I've booped it a few times going to scratch my nose as it tickles! I'm sure I'll see you again soon....

Amy is absolutely fabulous, she’s done my last four piercings and upgraded all my jewellery on my others. She gives the best advice, especially the bun trick for fresh ear piercings!

I also came to Amy with a request for some custom earrings, she found someone that could make just what i wanted and made the process so simple for me! All I had to do was patiently wait for them to be made and delivered.
