Amy Winehouse Foundation Description
The tragic passing of Amy on 23rd July 2011, aged just 27, left not only her family and close friends heart broken, but had a huge impact on people all over the world. Amy and her music has touched the lives of millions across the globe.
Amy’s family launched the Amy Winehouse Foundation on September 14th 2011, on what would have been Amy’s 28th birthday.
The Amy Winehouse Foundation works to prevent the effects of drug and alcohol misuse on young people. We also aim to support, inform and inspire vulnerable and disadvantaged young people to help them reach their full potential. We are driven by a powerful vision for young people, a world where young people can flourish.
We do this through a range of initiatives and programmes, which include;
The Resilience Programme for Schools, a groundbreaking drug & alcohol awareness and prevention programme for secondary schools;
Amy’s Yard, an intensive music programme which supports the personal development of disadvantaged young people;
Amy’s Place, which helps women leaving treatment for addictions to reintegrate into society with the best possible opportunity of sustaining their recovery and building a fulfilling life.
It also includes Music Therapy for Children, where those with life-limiting conditions are helped to address important developmental needs through music therapy.
This work will not only make a significant and positive difference for those it supports, but will also pay tribute to Amy’s remarkable life, talent and beautiful spirit.

£1 from every ticket goes to the AWF, supporting our work helping young people struggling with issues such as mental health, homelessness and drug and alcohol misuse.

We have been training a new cohort of Resilience Programme volunteers in Lancashire this week. Our volunteer training programme is ASDAN accredited and prepares volunteers for delivering their lived experience shares in schools.
Our volunteers are a huge support to our organisation and we couldn't continue our work with them...and it turns out that sparing some time to help others is also very beneficial to our own mental health ❤️

Last Saturday Amy's life was celebrated at the Lambeth Country Show. Three amazingly talented Amy’s Yard graduates Mister Lees, Infector and Porsha shared their music and shared how Amy’s Yard music programme changed their life. Group 10 of Amy’s Yard is in full swing! Currently in week 4 and the talent and tenacity of these 16 young people is evident. So far they have enjoyed incredible masterclasses facilitated by the amazing Maddison Dunbar, Anthony Adjekum, Kieran Yates, Alex Thompson and Klara Kjellen - giving them support in a variation of topics such as lyric writing, vocal coaching, stage presence and social media. We are super excited about spending the next 8 weeks with these wonderful young people. #amysyard❤️
