Kitchen and Front of house staff required at river side Devon Cafes The Anchorstone Cafe is a family run restaurant based in the sunny South Hams in South Devon. We have two venues both waterside on the banks of the River Dart, one based in Dartmouth and the other just up stream in Dittisham. We have a vacancy at both our Dartmouth and Dittisham cafes and are looking for full or part time staff both for front of house positions. Both of our cafes are day time venues so there ...is almost no night time work, so social hours and busy but fun atmosphere with no split shifts! We apply a flexible self rostering system and full time hours can be completed in a 5 day a week. So if your traveling the world, live locally or have just finished a ski season and fancy a summer in Devon and the opportunity to earn some money and have some fun in a beautiful part of the world then please do get in touch. Experience in the hospitality industry would be great, however a good work ethic and being part of our team is more important, any applicants will need to provide references etc, great rates of pay for the right person(s)/couple. Please email me with any applications, if you need more info or have further questions: info@anchorstonecafe.co.uk,

Good Morning All, With all these rumours of the Beast from the East 3 coming back next week I thought we needed a little more positivity for the Easter Holidays! Unfortunately I don't think we can completely trust either the Daily Express or the Daily Star with a 15 day forecast.

User

So after another three days of snow in the South Hams we at the Anchorstone Cafe are trying our best to think of summer and being open! The Anchorstone Cafe Dartmouth, Coronation Park will be open seven days a week from this Thursday 22nd March and The Anchorstone Cafe, Dittisham will be open seven days a week from Friday 23rd March. Both the Cafes will be open everyday so lets keep our fingers crossed for some sunshine over the Easter holidays!
Below is a photo of the Road to Dittisham at 3pm this afternoon!

Wow just had lunch at this beautiful cafe fantastic menu the food is divine we were over the moon we had mussels and scallops to start wow the scallops were succulent fresh and the best scallops I've tasted offering anything on the main menu for children at half the price that was such a welcome and refreshing change for the kids not to be restricted on what they fancied . Main meals were equally fantastic we had John Dory/MonkFish/Calamari/Haddock/Burger and they were all so tasty followed by lush pudding or Pavlova/Lemon Tart/Salted Carmel Brownie and Salcombe Ice cream Lovely friendly staff in a beautiful setting thanks for a great experience

User

Wonderful place to eat. Make sure you book. It's very hard to just walk in there and smell the wonderful food and not be able to eat. I had a whole medium lobster grilled with a little garlic butter, Mayo and crusty bread and it was utterly beautiful.

User

What a fantastic place we have found ! The food and service was excellent, beautiful weather and I can't wait to go back !

User

Visited today as the Ferry had stopped doing food! Thank the Lord we were to late to eat there, as we ate at the Anchorstone and had the most amazing crab salad, my first experience cracking and eating crab! It was fantastic, the perfect setting sitting overlooking the river, eating great food, with great company! A truly splendid afternoon!

User

This place is truly excellent. The best, super fresh and largely local, ingredients, prepared simply but perfectly and served in a beautiful location by friendly staff - what more could you want? Go there! P.S the vegan brownie is delicious (I am not vegan)

User

They make lovely food and have excellent drinks. They source it all well and with attention. They care about what they do. Its a lovely location. And on top of that they are really nice people. Family-friendly, couple friendly, single diner friendly. What's not to like?

User

Superb gem of a cafe. The friendliest guys run it and the food is delicious. Worth making a trip up river from Dartmouth or down from Totnes. Cream teas are a personal favourite but the sea food menu is so fresh it has to be the star of the show. Find some time to enjoy a sunny afternoon down there. You will fall in love with it.

User

Stunning location! The view, menu & service absolutely awesome. An amazing dining experience. Scallop Pancetta Caesar Salad the best I’ve eaten. Even on a busy day the staff were accommodating & so helpful.

User

Perfect in every way.

Our third visit in practically as many weeks

Mussels to start followed by turbot fillets and chargrilled monkfish.

Fantastic food.

Fantastic staff.

Fantastic venue.

And a vista to die for.

We'll be back soon.

Negotiating the narrow, winding lanes by car is a small price to pay when you end up at The Anchorstone Café, Dittisham. I like the understated use of the word "Café" - anything but. This is a quality eating establishment where the seafood is delivered to the jetty just below, fresh every morning. The views from the terrace are fabulous, facing out over the River Dart across to Agatha Christie's Greenway (ferry available if you want to visit - National Trust). Our visit to Anchorstone was a culinary delight. The only downside - access by road and parking in Dittisham.

User

Lovely sea food. Very relaxed. More than a cafe. Friendly staff. Although you can get to it by road, fun going over from Greenway on a motor boat ferry.

User

It’s bloody lush. Every time. Happy tummy, happy days. Go if you can.

User

Great local fresh seafood. A really love view, staff are friendly and helpful! A reall must after crabbing!

User

Great freshly cooked food. Lots of locally sourced produce served by knowledgeable and friendly staff

User

Great food and super outlook at Anchorstone. Always recommended.

User

Fabulous restaurant at a beautiful location. The staff was wonderful & brilliant with the children.

We had a really enjoyable meal & the 5 children we had with us all ate well & tried new foods, which they loved!

We would highly recommend this restaurant.

User

All I can say is WOW. Came here a year ago and back twice more this week. Food is incredible and I recommend that you pay a visit. Had to wait a while for a table as so popular but worth the wait!!! 5 star all the way!!

User

A wonderful experience: very good food, delicious staff and a stunning location! I would highly recommend this restaurant but best to book in advance, especially if you want a table on the balcony

User

Good breakfast made even better by JK on a beautiful day!
