What seems like yesterday to us gets further and further back. In one leap we face forwards with our grandchildren, who will probably be alive at the turn of the next century, and backwards to our grandparents who were born in the 1880s, and we remember them well. That is a span of 220 years.
If you think about it, it becomes mind blowing.
We are baby-boomers with a passion for history, of almost any variety. We have a longstanding interest in family history which led us to the conclusion we should be professionally trained, and we decided to take a history degree. We were privileged to be taught by a very talented team of lecturers at UCS in Ipswich, who spared no expense to make sure we wrote up all our work, including the genealogy, in a professional but readable manner!
We also have an interest in the British empire, early 19th Century emigration and British India which is very useful for family history….
So whatever your enquiry (even if it's outside of our specialist geographical area) we will be more than happy to take a look for you. If we can't find what you are looking for, we will tell you. The Victorians were marvellous record keepers but they didn't have 21st century family researchers in mind when they wrote their letters and forms, neither did the vicars who wrote in writing so slanted it's almost, or completely, illegible!
