Andrea Bambridge

Visited the shop with my friend who is getting married soon. The appointment was with Andrea herself. My friend asked if she had seen the picture she had sent her of her dream dress to which Andrea just replied "No". The picture was really just to give Andrea an idea of what we were looking for and not to waste time.
I didn't feel like she really listened at all to what the bride (who is afterall the most important person) wanted. I got the distinct impression that she assumed that anything in her shop would be unaffordable to her and that we were wasting her time.
Andrea acts like she is a cut above which is really unattractive and she speaks to people like they are children. Maybe she doesn't realise she is doing this but it really is the wrong way to go about things in an industry where your customers want to feel special.
Luckily we found the perfect dress in another boutique in York where the owner could not have been more opposite.
Unless you fancy recreating a Pretty Woman moment I wouldn't suggest you even bother looking here. There are plenty of shops that sell the same dresses so why torture yourself.
And before you reply to this letting me know that people very rarely leave reviews when they have had a good experience you are wrong because we had an absolutely fantastic experience at the other shop and I have left a review to reflect that. Luckily my friends special day wasn't ruined and we still had a great time elsewhere ! Big mistake Andrea HUGE mistake !

A league above all bridal shops. The shop itself is absolutely beautiful it was the first shop I tried dresses on in, you are not overwhelmed when you go on it has a nice selection of dresses. I was lucky enough to meet Andrea she was lovely and since visiting other bridal shops, she was the only one who took the time to ask not only when I was getting married but about the day even the little details. After visiting a couple more shops none of the dresses could compare to the one I tried at Andrea Bambridge so went back today and again met Andrea and was just lovely. I would recommend everyone to go here if you want a really special experience. I can’t wait until July to get married now 😀

Had an appointment here 2 years ago and would like to think the staff had changed for the better in that time but seeing as I saw the big cheese herself, it's unlikely. It was a rainy day in Jan/Feb that we visited and the fact that we were wearing normal waterproofs instead of Barbours and Hunters obviously went against us (not in my head, a snide comment was made as they were hung up). We were continually judged and treated like we couldn't afford to shop there. My mum and bridesmaid had a dress whisked away from in front of their eyes with a withering look from the assistant because it was "very expensive"... I tried on a dress I quite liked but my mum wasn't keen, so Andrea helpfully chimed in telling her to wait and see what it looked like on a 'real' bride, before producing a stock photo. We were polite through increasing snippy comments. There was one dress I really did think was the one, but their attitude towards us was so judgemental and completely uncalled for, that I opted to go elsewhere for the same dress. I even caught Andrea and the assistant rolling their eyes at us as we were leaving. Not a nice atmosphere at all - I'd only recommend going here if you're prepared to flash your cash so they know you can afford their dresses.

I came in last week with my sister for her big day next year, I just want to say how lovely the ladies are. Welcoming us into their beautiful boutique and answering all the questions we had. The gowns are beautiful and we cannot wait for our next appointment!

Utterly rude! If you are size 18+ this is not the place for you! Got the feeling that this shop doesn't believe bigger girls should be allowed to wear a lovely flowing wedding dress! Forget say yes to the dress and say no to this shop!

Professional, creative and friendly, if you want a wedding dress experience to remember then I would highly recommend going to Andrea Bambridge. The shop itself is beautiful, the staff are welcoming and they show an interest in the plan for your big day so you get the perfect dress. I have had mine designed and made, and I can't tell you how delighted I am with it. Perfect!!
