Specific skills are increasingly in demand, and fight auditions are becoming more prominent. From Shakespeare to Panto, an actor needs to be ready to impress with their combat skills. This workshop will cover stage combat techniques and audition skills to make a clear and and positive impact on a panel. Fights in costume This workshop 8th June in Norwood will explore the benefits and restrictions costume can bring to the actor’s fight scenes. We will work on balance, range of... movement, and using costume to characterise and sell the fight.
This course will run by Lisa Connell is an APC qualified Stage Combat instructor, fight choreographer, Action Performer and runs her own company CombatWorks. Resident Stage Combat Teacher at PPA in Guildford and Northampton University. Recent Theatre Choreography includes: Approaching Empty at the Kiln Theatre London, Heathers The Musical - Theatre Royal Haymarket / The Other Palace, RSC- First Encounters Tours: Comedy of Errors and Julius Caesar. Onscreen Action work includes: Jack Ryan Series, Suffragettes with Lucy Worsley BBC1, Curfew, Bulletproof, Bounty Hunters, Harlots, 24: Live Another Day, Beautiful Devils, The Girl With All The Gifts, Edge of Tomorrow, Pirates of the Caribbean; On Stranger Tides and John Carter. She is currently Choreographing a Live Action Aerial stunt show, ‘Infiltration.’
