Angela Daymond Textile Artist Description

Angela Daymond is a textile artist who works mainly with naturally dyed vintage fabrics. She gets her inspiration and colour from the natural world and the Fenland environment in which she lives. Nature’s ever changing seasons provide constant stimuli for her textile creations through dyeing, stitching and embellishing. Angela specialises in using woad, the oldest blue plant dye in the world.

Angela is a qualified teacher, BEd(Hons) and adult tutor as well having gained a City and Guilds Diploma in Patchwork and Quilting. Angela is a member of the Quilters’ Guild and has held the position of National Young Quilters Officer. She belongs to several textile groups and loves to share her ideas and enthusiasm with others. Angela has full public liability insurance, enhanced CRB checks and has undertaken Safeguarding Adults training.

Angela has had her work exhibited on a number of occasions including at Lincoln Cathedral, Sam Scorer Gallery, The Carre Gallery in Sleaford, Tranmer House in Sutton Hoo and the Yarrow Gallery in Oundle. She has had a number of articles on natural dyeing and stitched projects published in national craft magazines.

Angela runs workshops from her studio in Spalding, Lincolnshire, and also travels around the country visiting groups. She gives a variety of talks, locally and world-wide, based on her natural dyeing experiences.
