Angelo Grubišić - Icarus Project Description

Angelo Grubisic is the coordinator of The Icarus Wingsuit Project, which aims to progress human flight by developing a new wingsuit using state of the art computational analysis, experimental aerodynamics and testing. We also aim to educate wingsuit pilots on wingsuit aerodynamics in order to maintain safety in the sport.

When the summer comes and you're out of snow.. 🤣

Engine startup before a flight performing on BBC Tomorrow's World. The calm before the storm.

Super chuffed to have done a perfect flight on BBC Tomorrow's World Live on Thursday evening to finish off the show.. no pressure.. 😅with Gravity Industries

Performing a Jet Suit flight live to a few million people is one of the most challenging yet rewarding events of my life with Gravity Industries and RTV Pink.rs. #takeongravity

A few weeks ago, I lived a childhood dream of flying at the Farnborough Air Show.. didn't think it would be in a jet suit with Richard Browning.. If you'd like to see history being made, we will be performing at about 1300 and 1900 at the Bournemouth Air Festival on Friday and Saturday (31st and 1st) in the most amazing show we've done so far. https://bournemouthair.co.uk/ Come and watch #takeongravity with Gravity Industries

Sometimes it’s difficult for me to convey the feeling of flying a wingsuit in close proximity to terrain, but I think this new style of filming gives some great insight into the intensity and concentration. Diving at over 200km/h through the crack feels like travelling at light speed. #wingsuit #proximity #Switzerland #flight #BASEjump #extremesports.

What a beautiful flight...

EXTREME with me in the Dolomites...

I'm very excited to announce that I have joined the awesome team at Gravity Industries in the development of jetsuit technology. We have been demonstrating the ability of other pilots to train the necessary strenghth and motor skills to fly a jetsuit based only on the raw power of jet engines and the ability of the human mind and body to harness them. This is just the beginning.. #takeongravity

Miles Daisher performing an air to water transition.. pretty cool stuff :-D

The Vincent(s) showing how it's done.. Diving in a C-Race wingsuit, flaring and then deploying. Rock and Roll 🤙💕

This is our ultimate freedom. In the beauty of the Dolomites, living a life the way we choose it, doing what we love, with those who share our passion, answerable to no one, with all things in perspective. .

So we're training for something very special in 2018. 🤘Next year is going to be one for the world to remember. When innovators get together - magic ensues.. Watch this space. ❤️ with - Angelo Niko Grubišić

Some great flying and aerial photography work in the skies..

Happy New Year Rocketeers 🤣🤘💕

An important part of computational fluid dynamics is validation. It's not good enough to simulate the flow field alone, you must use experimental methods to check that your results are correct. Without this the work means nothing. Here is some of the research we did on a Rebel 2 wingsuit a couple of years ago showing the stall process of a suit at 45 degrees angle of attack. Pilots must avoid flying too slow or shallow, entering the stall envelope, especially in BASE. In this region, drag builds up quickly as your angle of attack increases as pilots try to maintain lift, slowing the suit down further and entering into potentially deadly scenario. Pilots – I hope you never experience flow like this behind you. Fly fast, fly well. 🤙

Some super flying by Fred and Vince - transitioning from BASE to aircraft - good work boys.
