About Anglia Care Trust

Founded in 1968, we support vulnerable people within the community providing housing services, domestic abuse services, drug and alcohol services, counseling and mediation, money and employment advice, to adults, children, and families.

Anglia Care Trust Description

We are a charity providing services to vulnerable people in Suffolk, Norfolk and Essex. Our services can be categories as:
Community safety: working with male and female victims of domestic abuse and providing outreach, crisis and intensive support along with advice and guidance on surrounding issues; alcohol recovery project
Housing services: helping vulnerable individuals to gain the necessary skills to maintain tenancies and live independently. We deliver housing services both on an independent basis and as part of a group of agencies working together and known as the SNAP Consortium.
Advice, guidance and advocacy - helping people to be heard. We provide money advice, employment advice; we run an Appropriate Adult scheme; we provide mentoring services and advocacy & Independent Visitor services and mediation services. We also part of the Ipswich Local Advice Partnership (ILAP), a partnership of 12 local agencies working together to improve the provision of advice for the people of Ipswich.
We have 65 staff and around 100 volunteers - they are all amazing people, providing the best services and all of whom are dedicated to their work; our staff have taken part in many fundraising events to help provide extra services and we have created an Empowerment Fund to empower our service users to change their lives for the better. Grants are awarded for activities, training and support that’s proven to have a sustainable, long-term effect, and which can’t be gained elsewhere.

At ACT HQ we held a #BakeOff competition to raise money for buying welcome packs for people fleeing #DomesticAbuse and Violence: essential hygiene supplies like soap, shower gels, sponges, toothbrushes, toothpaste etc. We also include a pack for children who've fled with a parent.
The bake off raised £77 - a big thank you goes to all that took part, either by #baking, or buying the bakes - thanks to #Lapwing staff who share our building.
Thanks also to Stuart from our #Money...Advice team, and Del from our Domestic Abuse Outreach Support team for organising the bake off.

Full time (shift work, 7.00pm – 7.30am) Starting Salary: £20104, plus 6% non-contributory pension contribution Closing date: 10/06/2019
Do you think you have what it takes to make positive change?
... You would be working with service users within one of our properties in our Accommodation Based Support Services to make positive change and support them to gain life skills and meet their goal to move on to independent living.
The majority of these Service Users come from the street homeless community and have histories of being accommodated and then losing their accommodation. The purpose of this role is to support them to break this cycle. We aim to achieve this by providing them with support 24/7 so this role is pivotal in this success.
As this is an overnight service, you will need to demonstrate an ability to problem solve and use your own initiative to find solutions.
Support and opportunities for personal development will be provided.

22.5 hours per week - salary range is pro rata.

You would be expected to undertake financial duties that may include:
Monitoring and recording Housing Benefit payments; Credit control; Facilitating payments to landlords for our Triangle Tenancy Scheme; Assisting with the petty cash process; General Sage 200 Accounts and spreadsheet work; General administrative support. Much of the above will involve the use of Sage Accounts Software. You may also be required to support other team members on our busy reception and switchboard and carrying out general administrative duties where required.
