About Animal Physiotherapist - Claire Campbell

I cover Surrey Hampshire and Berkshire, treating animals from the tiniest tea-cup chihauha to the big military horses at Sandhurst using mainly hands on techniques.

Animal Physiotherapist - Claire Campbell Description

By assessing your animal’s entire musculo-skeletal system, a physiotherapist will be able to identify areas of pain and stiffness. Physiotherapy can help by enhancing joint mobility and muscle tone aiding in the prevention of protective, compensating gait patterns. All animals also benefit from the β€˜feel good factor’ which physiotherapeutic massage and manipulation provides.
As with human athletes, animals also benefit hugely from pre and post-performance physiotherapy to optimise their physical potential and avoid injury.
Post-operative physiotherapy and conservative management of chronic conditions (such as arthritis), using tailor made programmes, can improve their comfort and well-being giving your animal a happy lifestyle for longer than would otherwise have been expected

Brilliant article! Thank you Haygain. πŸ‘Œ

Energy / engagement coming from behind πŸ‘Œwith use of a simple tail bandage. This is a simple 'tool' I often advise clients to use. One under the belly is also useful too. Get digging out those old tail bandages!!!

Any age or type of horse / pony can be affected by the crazy grass at the moment... Be vigilant and monitor weight gain.

This makes me sad :( the Equine world is losing an absolute font of knowledge, experience and advocate for subclinical lameness... The dedication, education and research Sue as given over the years is second to none. A big loss to the Equine veterinary and educational world! But obviously a very well earned and deserved retirement. Thank you Sue. I've been inspired by you for years. πŸ‘πŸ‘

Tapering was touched on in my last sports science seminar linking in well with 'overuse' / repetitive strain injuries. It's recommended for long distance runners to taper training and start carb load in the final 6-7 days pre race. Definitely something to consider with elite Equine athletes too.

After chatting with a client this morning on a saddle assessment appointment, I stumbled across this brilliant page a out the pliance mat, unreliable thermography and mounting. πŸ‘Œ Well worth a read. https://www.mastersaddlers.co.uk/pliance< br>

Betty here was ever so receptive to myofascial release work. She was very reactive to work on initially due to being so sore, so starting off with and incorporating a less 'invasive' method/tool in our session, allowed her to relax and even unwind (rocking) a little. I stopped the video to concentrate on her better and we ended up with a big release soon after.

2 days are never the same in this job! It was a pleasure to give little Biscuit a physio session. He's part of a pint sized therapy / assisted learning team 😍
