We just received this update and lovely pictures of one of our previous dogs. We always love to hear how the animals are getting on with the new families.
Hi, We adopted Alexia (Heidi) last October and we would like to let you know how she is getting on. Lexi was a bit reserved for the first 2 weeks but soon came out of her shell, she is a very inquisitive doggy always looking for mischief to get herself into. We are currently working on training her which is going well, Lexi is very intelligent and a kind hearted soul and we are lucky to have found her. Here are a few photo of what she has been up to since she came home with us. Kind regards The Teather family. X

If you are at a loose end tomorrow, why not pop along to Great Hallingbury village hall and join in the fun at the dog show being held from 11am onwards. They are kindly raising funds for us so we will be popping along during the day to show our thanks and support. Hopefully see a few of you there.

After many months of clearing and arranging fencing being put up and stables moved, the day finally came for our ponies to move into their new field yesterday. Like the true pros they are they all took it in their stride and enjoyed looking out at their new surroundings before getting the chance to have a little buck and run around before realising there was plenty of yummy grass to be eaten. We would like to say a massive thank you to everyone who’s helped us to get the field ready and for transporting the ponies so that the move was able to go as smoothly as possible without too much stress for them. Our shetlands Toffee and Saffy had begun to get a bit down with all the building work going on around them in their old field but they were back to their cheeky selves and in fine sprints this morning on their way out of their stables.

Wallace's tail
A rescue dog or cat may take time and patience to settle, but the reciprocated love is endless. This is from Wallace's mum 8 months later.
"After a whirlwind of chewed objects, wee’s, poo’s, a ripper dew claw, a snapped lead, holes in the wall, howling sessions and a Muntjac incident we prefer not to talk about.
... The beautiful boy, and his owner, are well and truly settled. 💕 Words can’t describe what a perfect pal Wallace is, and how much he’s brought to my life.
He is the most sweet and gentle dog. He is chilled and patient yet excitable and expressive, and adores his walks (and sofa!) And most wonderfully of all, he’s completely bonkers. An undeniable character, loved by everyone that meets him.
I’d like to say a big thank you to the team at ARC for their help, advice, patience, kindness and honesty that lead to one of the best decisions of my life."

A very Merry Christmas to all our staff, volunteers and supporters. Yet another amazing year helping animals in need. Without you all we wouldn’t be able to do the work that we do. Here’s to an exciting 2019.
Full Christmas dinner made and presents from Santa paws to all the animals. Thank you to everyone that kindly donated items. We were so lucky this year that they will also be getting Boxing Day presents too.

Happy black cat day!! Can you make Tundra and Moo’s day and offer them a forever home.
Tundra has been with us for 5 yrs now and is a little nervous but once he gets to know you he will start to come round ( he loves a bit of chicken!)
... Moo is 10yrs old and is looking for a quiet home where she can sit on the chair and watch the world go by.
If you can offer either of them a home please call the sanctuary on 01279 501547.

We are very grateful to Bishop’s Stortford Barkery for picking us as one of their charities for the token jars by Giving Street. Also don’t forget that you can always save up your tokens from other shops and put them into our jar 😜

We are so happy to be able to tell you all that Benny has finally had his happy ending. 4 weeks ago he went off to his new home and we are thrilled to say that he is settling in well.

WE ARE VERY HAPPY TO SAY THAT HERO IS OFF TO HIS NEW FAMILY ON SUNDAY WERE HE WILL HAVE TWO BIG SISTERS TO SHOW HIM THE ROPES.
Hi it’s Hero here and as you can see I’m still only a pup, 14 weeks to be precise. I haven’t had the best start to life and I’m now looking for my forever home 🙁. I’m sad to say that I have a few issues that my new family will need to be aware of and help me to over come. I’m deaf so we will need to learn doggie sign language together and I also stru...ggle with being left on my own and get myself in a bit of state. I’ve just spent the weekend at one of the supervisors house and they said I was the perfect house guest even though I had the odd accident 😬 I think that if I had another doggie as a friend it might help me with my anxiety at being left. Ideally I’d like my new brother or sister to be a young whipper snapper like me as my doggie friend at the weekend was a lot older and rather boring as she didn’t want to play with me and just wanted to 😴😴 all day long! Even when I asked her nicely she wouldn’t play 🙁. I’m a little possessive around food but I’m trying really hard to work on this, I think it’s because food was a bit sparse when I was smaller so I just don’t want to lose it when I get it! Please don’t be put off by my issues as I have a lot to give to my new family, as I love nothing more than snuggling up at bed time. If you want to know more about me then please ring the sanctuary on 01279 501547 and they will help in anyway they can. 🐾🐾

Thank you to the Haslam family( Shelby Haslam), Sarah, Sian and Ray for helping out at the new pony field today in preparation for the farmer. We are very appreciative of you all giving up your Sunday afternoon.

User

HELP needed..... If any of our lovely supporters are free on Sunday afternoon we are looking for help to give our new pony field a final clear before the farmer can get in and cut it and do the fencing in preparation for our ponies. The ponies are really beginning to feel the walls closing in around them so we are wanting to move them ASAP.
If you are able to help even if it’s just for a hour then please give us a call on 01279 501547 and ask to speak to Vicki.

Hi, we have a bit of an ask from all our lovely followers. There has been an influx of lots of us mischievous babies and our servants are running low on food for us and we would be very grateful if when you go shopping you could pop a box of food for us in the animal food bins at Sainsbury’s and Tesco’s.
Thank you from us all 🐾🐾🐾

Many rescue animals become our saviour, even though it is us who have saved them. Full of love and appreciation they can change our lives forever. This letter is from Emily and Fidget, Fidget was adopted from us 2 years ago. Visit our website to read their story. www.animalrescuecharity.org.uk/little-fid get-helped-emily/

Wonderful place, We took Snoopy (Boxer x Staff we think!!) from you just over a year ago and he is very much part of our lives in every way. Not dog friendly then not a place for us and our boy. He also became a large part of our Wedding in March sporting a wonderful bow-tie and bespoke made collar. Thank you for everything you do for these animals. Love Sara, Paul and Snoops xx

Wonderful place where we adopted our Zak over a year ago

User

We have now had Keke home for nearly 2 weeks. She is absolutely adorable. She is so settled you would think we have had here for ever, Apart from not liking the car or the hoover, I think she loves it here in Harlow. Thanks again to the ARC for doing a great job, and introducing us to our new best friend.

User

We have had or babies Simon and Maple since summer 2015, and they are just the best cats in the world. We love this charity so much and hope that more people will rescue in further. There's a few long term residents that we would live to see find their forever home.

User

We delivered some shredded paper for the animals. All the helpers at this charity deserve a medal.

User

We adopted one of your long term residents, Bubbles, three years ago come March. She was a very nervous girl but with time and patience she has come out of her shell and is a beautiful, affectionate lap cat who likes nothing more than cuddling up to you. She is the perfect example of why people should not discount giving a home to an older cat, give them the time they need and they will become the perfect addition to your family.

User

Today was a very difficult day for a friend and we can't thankyou enough for your help and support we would recommend anyone wishing to rehome a dog from here to do so lovely kind people ! Xx

This is the place that saved our beautiful Lilly and her puppies before we found her

This is such a lovely charity - we got Boy the black Cat from here just over two months ago but really couldn’t imagine being without him now. He’s got such an amazing personality. All he wants is attention and loves being around people, and everyone loves him back (even our friends who didn’t think they liked cats that much!). He loves to chill out - having the pick of all his spots around the house, and is also so playful you’d never think he was 12+! Thank you all so much for bringing him to us.

Please help these guys keep up their amazing work in any way you can, and when you’re looking for a new fluffy friend, go and meet the cuties they have waiting for their forever homes!

User

Thank you so much for taking little Petrie ( mallard duckling)in to grow big and strong. You are fabulous

User

Rescued Charlie from here about 8 or 9 years ago. Staff are fantastic and Charlie is still a very much loved dog even if he is a bit grey around the edges and a tad on the round side now lol. Xxx

User

I think that the people who work so hard to keep these animals happy and to find them a new home are worth there weight in gold.

User

I adopted my pony Lady from you in September 1997. I still have her (now aged 23 and semi-retired). She's still as naughty as ever too. I can't recommend ARC enough, Fiona gave me oodles of advice and support :)

User

Hey,

Just an update on Juno,

She's been with us for over 2 weeks now and she is perfect, she has got such a fun personality you would not think she was 10 she's more like a pup. We couldn't be happier that we've adopted her and she is instantly part of our family, thank you so much for Juno xx

Got my fenton ( boxer labrador cross) on 23rd December 2011 and he's the best thing I ever did. ARC saves lifes and places distressed animals into loving homes every day. Well done . Great people and great work.
