Open Studio Invitation!
We are having an informal Open Studio event in our new rehearsal base in Banbury on Sunday July 8, from 2pm to 4pm. Everyone who is interested in what we do is invited to come and see examples of our work, watch performances and meet the dancers and team members.
Visitors will see trailers of the company’s recently toured production, Genius, and a film of Young Anjali dancers called 'Doors' created by dance artist Suzette Watson. There will also be pe...rformances by main company members.
We have transferred all our activities, consisting of the main company and Young Anjali rehearsals and weekly Open Classes, to the new base, which is at The Factory, Arthrofilm Studios, near Banbury railway station.
How to find us: The studios are located at the end of Station Approach, Banbury, a quarter of a mile south of Banbury railway station. (Postcode OX16 5AB.) To get there, go into the road to the station, fork right and keep going for about a quarter of a mile. We are in a block called Power Park at the end on the right. (Postcode OX16 5AB.)

Dancers from our weekly 'Open' class were delighted to be part of the Banbury Friendship Festival yesterday - a lovely opportunity for the dancers to perform and to show their skills. The class, which is taught by Suzette Watson, is held on a Monday evening in Banbury. Please spread the word!

We're looking forward to sharing our #AnjaliGenius experiences at this event, including how we programmed the work at mainstream venues, working internationally and working with venues to develop new audiences. Also looking forward to meeting other companies and artists doing incredible things (TIN Arts, Mind the Gap Theatre and others), and venues committed to diversifying their programmes. Anyone else we know attending?...

Today the Anjali dancers led a day-long workshop at Kingfisher School in Abingdon. The workshop culminated in a performance for the whole school. A very enjoyable day!

During our Mexico tour in autumn 2017 the Anjali dancers took part in a photoshoot with photographers who are blind or visually impaired. Using light to outline the dancers it was a fascinating collaboration for all involved, a brilliant test of communication skills and resulted in some beautiful photos of Bloodsucker unlike any others we have. Thanks to the inspiring Buró Cultural for arranging it and sharing these memories...

Sorry to complain about the weather, but we can't help thinking about Mexico today! What a bonus it was to soak in some winter sunshine on our fabulous 2-week tour in 2017. Working with Buró Cultural and British Council Mexico warmed our hearts too. Some fond memories...

Anjali dancers Nick, Lauren and Alex led a day of workshops with Nicole at the wonderful Fort Royal Community Primary School in Worcester yesterday. The workshops culminated in a performance and we were very impressed with the talent and enthusiasm of the children - and staff!

I watched an excellent performance at Night of Festivals in Leicester this weekend, you girls rock! ;-)
