Happy New year everyone! I have loved this year with my students! We had 2 amazing shows, a fantastic charity karaoke evening raising just under £1,200, 2 recording studio visits, a studio photoshoot and I passed my 9th year of vocal training. 2019 will be a big one for education towards my big exam to mentor level! 10 years of learning about the voice from the world's experts! Always the best for my students! I am leaving 2018 with over 70 students who I feel honoured to... teach! Wishing you love, peace, and most important health and happiness for 2019!! When I started my singing lessons with Anna Leigh vocal studios back in 2016 I was so excited I used to be shy but since I’m having these vocal lessons my confidence has gotten stronger anna Leigh makes you feel relaxed and comfortable with out the help and having the confidence boost I wouldn’t have done open mic or any gigs as I used to get so nervous but if your ever lookin for singing lessons wether it’s for a friend or someone who loves to sing then please look up anna Leigh vocal studios and get bookin it’s great fun you learn a lot

What an awesome, friendly place to really learn HOW to sing. I've absolutely loved every lesson with Emma and now Rach. They've helped me so much to understand the technical side of singing!

No matter how much of a long day at work I've had I always come out of my lessons feeling excited and motivated about my music (and super happy to have spent the last 45 minutes with these guys!)

Wanted to say a big thanks to Anna for all her advice following a set of three lessons. Anna has helped me to identify fundamental errors in my singing which I would not have identified otherwise, in addition to giving me more confidence following her useful exercises to develop my voice further. All the best, and would welcome further lessons in the future.

Started at AVL just in January 2017 with Rach taking my lessons. She made me feel comfortable right from the start. I have no experience in singing at all, so what ever sounds were coming out of my mouth she made sure I got them right and directed me in the right direction. Which ended up with me doing a professional studio recording with Anna advising in November. Let's see what 2018 has in store.

Something drew me to have singing lessons with Anna Leigh and am I glad I did?! It led me not only to strengthen my voice and achieve notes I never dreamed I could ever achieve with ease but I gained confidence, got multiple main roles in musicals AND become a qualified singing teacher myself!

I am early retired and decided to see if I could improve my "karaoke voice" . I've always sang since I was young but never had any professional lessons. I read Anna's testimonials and decided to give it a go. Well, all I can say is that Anna is friendly , enthusiastic and so knowledgeable in her field. I've been taking lessons with Rachel at the studio for around 3 months now, and wonder why I waited so long to get started! Although I've been singing in amateur shows for years, I always felt as though I was missing technique or 'letting things slide'. Rachel zooms straight in on problematic areas and coupled with the personalised warm-ups and exercises it's making a real difference. Looking forward to finding out what else I can do!

I was seeking a vocal coach following 2 micro laryngoscopy operations which put an abrupt halt to my singing career. From the very first lesson, Anna Leigh not only made me comfortable but filled me with confidence, and the belief that I could return to the stage.



Her lessons are designed to completely meet my individual needs as a singer and already, after only a few lessons, I have learned techniques which will not only develop my voice, but protect it from the issues I had previously.



My only regret in going to Anna Leigh Vocal Studios is that I didn't do it earlier in my career, then I may not have had to go through the operations in the first place.

I was originally a folk singer during my teens and 20s, touring folk clubs all over the north east. I gave up because of numerous work & family commitments. But after an absence of 38 years thought I might have left it too late to return to singing & performing again in public, however as I already play the guitar, I thought I would give it a go. So it was then I found out about Anna, mainly to ask her advice & to find out if I had really left it too late. My original intention was to start a new hobby....no way did I want fame or fortune! I was terribly nervous at first but Anna was so encouraging & understanding, she guided me through the vocal training with complete professionalism step by step & after a few weeks I realised I still had a voice....a good voice! After a few more weeks my confidence returned & once again I got up & sang again in public at the local buskers evening. Anna's training has done so much for me, not just for my voice, but for my confidence too. I've also made many friends since joining the studio so it's been a boost to my social life too. Since I started lessons 4 years ago I have achieved so much, a lot more than I ever initially intended. I sing at buskers & open Mic nights twice a week, and also charity gigs & private parties as well as the vocal studios own Summer & Christmas concerts. The highlight of my new found "career/hobby" was when I was asked to sing a half hour solo set to open the Sage guitar students showcase evening in Hall 2 at the Sage in July 2014. This is something I would never have done if I hadn't had Anna's training, guidance & encouragement.....in fact I couldn't have done any of this without her! Not only is she a tutor, she's also a friend.

I was looking for singing lessons and friend of mine recommended I try Anna Leigh. I am so glad I did. Anna took time to get to know me, and my goals. My confidence has improved so much, and I find it easy to sing now, whereas before I used to shout a lot.

I would recommend you try lessons with Anna. Whether you are a beginner or a pro, you will notice a huge difference, even after the first lesson.

I had three lessons at Anna Leigh Vocal Studios which acted as a bit of a crash course to singing before I went off to uni, one with Rach and two with Anna. I must say the professionalism, quality of teaching and approach they take to leading their lessons is outstanding. I never thought I'd be able to learn so much in so little time. The method of being able to transition into what is called my head voice and even realising that my mouth shape can act as a filter helping certain words to come out. Definately worth it for these guys, they know what they are doing and they can help you realise that you actually can achieve so much more with your voice than you even realised! Will definitely be coming back if I can 😁

I found from the start rach and Anna easy to work with my lessons are with rach. But when I have had any contact with Anna she has always been very easy to talk to. Rach Tailors my lesson really well to what I need to get out of it . although it's only been two lessons in I feel slight improvements when performing already . Again Rach is also very easy to talk to which helped me get over my initial anxieties . Highly recommend getting in touch .

Having no previous singing experience I was sceptical as to whether you could actually learn how to sing. But having lessons with both Emma and Anna I can honestly say that my singing has vastly improved and through lessons I have gained the confidence to sing in front of an audience-something I never thought I would be able to do.

Right from the beginning Anna and the team were very helpful and friendly, giving help outside of lessons and encouraging me to begin performing at public events.

Excellent vocal studio, highly recommended. I've been a working musician for many years now but always shyed away from singing. After having lessons from Anna for six months now I have so much more confidence in singing backing vocals and am now even working on some lead, which I never thought I could do.

Can't rate ALVS high enough. It has provided me with a confidence i have never really had, which has improved my life tenfold. My lessons with Rach are informative and enjoyable, which i have learned a lot from so far. Both Anna and Rach are warm and welcoming, which helped settle my nerves straight away. They take great pride and enjoyment in their students progress and performances. All in all singing is great for the soul, and this is a great and supportive place to do it.

Anna Leigh is an excellent vocal instructor. Whether you're completely new to singing or have been singing for a long time but want to improve your voice, learn technique, etc. she's got you covered! She is professional, talented and kind. When I started lessons a year ago, I was already a vocalist, but with no formal training. In the past year, Anna has helped me with a lot, including auditions for The Voice, preparing my original music to be performed and recorded, developing the different parts of my voice, and expanding my range.



Since I've lived quite a distance from Anna Leigh's studio the past year, I've had my lessons via Skype. They have all been great, and I really like that they are all recorded and sent to me to use to practice. I already feel I have learned a lot, and am looking forward to continuing my lessons with Anna so I can improve my voice even more!
